Roman Reigns Attacks Jinder Mahal
Roman Reigns kicks off the show coming to the ring to his usual passionate mixed-bag reaction. Reigns gets on the microphone and issues a challenge to Jinder Mahal.
This brings out WWE Hall Of Famer and RAW General Manager Kurt Angle. Angle ends up booking Jinder Mahal vs. Elias vs. Bobby Lashley in a Money In The Bank qualifying match for later this evening.
Reigns ends up heading backstage where the cameras catch up with him while he is beating down Mahal. They brawl ends up spilling out into the arena where Reigns finishes Mahal off with a Superman Punch before WWE officials break things up.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens
After the opening segment, we head to the ring for our first match of the evening. In our first match of RAW this week, the WWE Intercontinental Championship will be up for grabs.
Seth Rollins retained his WWE Intercontinental Championship by defeating Kevin Owens in what was described as an excellent match that the crowd was super into. The contest lasted about 20 minutes, so it was given some time and the fans were interacting quite a bit throughout the match, chanting random things.
Rollins had the crowd going berserk with cheers and chants by the time all was said-and-done. In the end, the finish saw “The Architect” defeat Owens with The Blackout.
Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Seth Rollins
Backstage: The B-Team Approaches Kurt Angle
After the Rollins-Owens match concluded, we headed backstage for a segment. We see Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, jointly known as “The B-Team,” approaching RAW G.M. Kurt Angle in hopes of getting a WWE RAW Tag-Team Championship shot. Angle agrees and books the match for later tonight.
WWE Money In The Bank Qualifying Match
Bobby Roode vs. Baron Corbin vs. No Way Jose
A WWE Money In The Bank triple-threat qualifying match pitting Bobby Roode vs. Baron Corbin vs. No Way Jose is up next.
For whatever this is worth, there were actually some noticeable faces from the U.K. independent scene that were included in No Way Jose’s conga-line.
This match was given some time, much like the Rollins-Owens I-C title match earlier in the show. In the end, Roode hit the Glorious DDT on Jose to get the 1-2-3 and qualify for the WWE Money In The Bank ladder match.
Winner and ADVANCING to the WWE Money In The Bank match: Bobby Roode
Backstage: Kevin Owens & Kurt Angle
After the WWE MITB qualifier, we head backstage where we see Kevin Owens, fresh off his loss to “The Architect” earlier in the show. Owens confronts RAW G.M. Kurt Angle and demands a rematch with Rollins. Angle shoots him down.
Breezango vs. The B-Team
Tyler Breeze and Fandango (Breezango) will take on The B-Team (Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas) in tag-team action next on RAW.
This was a pretty basic, but fun, tag-team contest. This one saw The B-Team pick up the “W” after hitting a double-team finisher on Fandango.
There were plenty of chants from the fans inside the O2 Arena for The B-Team. After the match, Axel and Dallas again demanded a RAW World Tag-Team Championship shot.
Winners: The B-Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas)
Natalya, Sasha Banks & Ember Moon vs. Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan
Up next we’ve got 6-woman tag-team action, with Natalya, Sasha Banks and Ember Moon teaming up to take on the trio of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan.
This one ended when Nattie trapped Morgan in the Sharpshooter and got the tap-out for the submission victory for her team.
Winners: Natalya, Sasha Banks & Ember Moon
Non-Title Match
Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt vs. The Revival
In a non-title match, WWE RAW World Tag-Team Champions Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt took on The Revival.
This one wasn’t that well-received by the London fans, as the crowd started getting quiet and didn’t really seem to be with the match. In the end, the champs picked up the “W” in this non-title affair.
Winners: Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt
Sami Zayn Addresses Bobby Lashley
After the non-title match featuring the RAW World Tag-Team Champions, we head back to the ring for a promo segment with Sami Zayn.
Zayn gets on the microphone and cuts a promo on Bobby Lashley. He rants about how Lashley is the reason he now suffers from Vertigo.
From there, Sami shows us the video interview with Lashley and Renee Young from last week’s show. The fans destroyed this segment, as they boo’d and chanted “boring” loudly before he could finish it.
Finally, Sami Zayn reveals that he will be bringing Lashley’s real-life sister to RAW next week to “expose him.”
Women’s Money In The Bank Qualifying Match
Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley vs. Mickie James
Up next will be the WWE Money In The Bank women’s qualifier match. This bout saw Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley vs. Mickie James in a match to fill another spot in the Women’s MITB match.
This match didn’t do a great job of getting the crowd back, which started cooling off during the 6-woman match earlier, and got even worse during the Hardy/Wyatt vs. The Revival tag-team match.
In the end, the finish saw Bliss score the pin on Bayley to win the match and qualify for the Women’s Money In The Bank match.
Winner and ADVANCING to the Women’s WWE Money In The Bank match: Alexa Bliss
Backstage: Reigns-Mahal Brawl Continues
After the Women’s Money In The Bank qualifying match wrapped up, we shoot backstage where we see the Roman Reigns / Jinder Mahal brawl is still going on. Reigns is still beating down “The Modern Day Maharaja.”
Braun Strowman & Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre
In tag-team competition, Braun Strowman and Finn Balor will team up to take on the duo of Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre in our next match of the evening.
All four of these guys got good receptions from the U.K. fans in attendance, which was badly needed considering the sleeper-hold that was put on the crowd in the middle of the show.
At one point during this match, Strowman blasted McIntyre through his Greatest Royal Rumble trophy. In the end, Ziggler and McIntyre managed to pick up the victory.
Winners: Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre
Main Event Announcement
It is announced that due to being injured in the beatdown by Roman Reigns throughout the show, Jinder Mahal is out of the previously announced main event. Replacing Mahal in the triple-threat WWE Money In The Bank qualifying match will be Kevin Owens.
WWE Money In The Bank Qualifying Match
Kevin Owens vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Elias
Our main event of the evening will be one more WWE Money In The Bank qualifying match, as Kevin Owens fills in for Jinder Mahal against Elias and Bobby Lashley, with the winner advancing to the WWE Money In The Bank match at the upcoming pay-per-view.
Elias performed before the match got underway. Sami Zayn even ran down at one point during the match to prevent Lashley from getting what seemed to be an inevitable victory.
After getting robbed, Lashley was victim to circumstances, as Owens would go on to nail Elias with the Frogsplash for the victory. With the win, Owens advances to the WWE Money In The Bank match.
Once the match officially concluded, Elias joined up with Owens and Zayn to beat down Lashley until Seth Rollins ran down and made the save. Finally, Roman Reigns came out as well and now the numbers game was more even. Rollins, Reigns and Lashley ended up cleaning house to end the show on a positive note. That will do it for this week’s show.
