WWE President Nick Khan appeared on “What’s Your Story?” hosted by Stephanie McMahon. Khan and McMahon talked at length about various topics and interestingly, also briefly discussed former WWE CEO Vince McMahon and about his perseverance through life to lead an empire.
Stephanie: “My dad tells the story that he was often times beaten by various boyfriends, etc. that were with his mom. He grew up in a trailer park and he would always stand up for his mom, he would take these beatings and one time he tells the story that he was beaten with a lead pipe and left in a ditch to die. But his mindset was if he could survive, he won. So just surviving was winning and is still winning today. And I don’t know how you could ever beat someone at the end of the day if all they need to do is survive to win.”
Nick: “He talked about that, he talked about abuse at the hands of one of his parents. To recover, to move on, to go from trailer park and to all that success, an empire, a universe. So all credit to him, I have admiration for him. As Paul (HHH) said family is complicated and obviously we don’t need to get into that.”
Stephanie: “Yeah we’re not going any deeper on that, but yes.”
Nick: “But when it comes to business, that guy is an empire builder.”
Stephanie: “Absolutely, he is. And no one can take that away from him, no matter what. Including himself, who is probably his biggest nemesis is himself.”
Stephanie: “His mindset was, if he could survive, he won. So just surviving was winning and still is winning for him today. And I don’t know how you can ever beat someone at the end of the day if all they need to do is survive to win.”
