Talking Smack Recap: (6/26/21)

Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the Talking Smack recap! After last night’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown came to an end, WWE taped the latest edition of Talking Smack, which can be seen on Peacock, as well as the WWE Network. Talking Smack is hosted by Kayla Braxton, alongside Pat McAfee, and will feature multiple guests, including, Seth Rollins, Big E, and Carmella . Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, it’s time to talk!

Talking Smack

Kayla kicks off the show by reminding everyone that Money In The Bank is only a few weeks away, and pitches it over to Pat, who says “we have some great stories to tell today.” Kayla tells Pat that his presence “is a breathe of fresh air,” and Pat agrees. McAfee goes on to state that being on the show “is an honor,” and Kayla reminds everyone that Talking Smack will be going back on the road soon. Kayla and Pat cover a few highlights from Smackdown, until the hosts send the show to a break.

Carmella

Carmella joins the hosts, and she’s joined by a makeup crew. Carmella has a glass of champagne in hand, and she makes Pat introduce her twice. Kayla kicks off the interview by reminding Carmella that she received a slap from Liv, and Carmella laughs it off. Carmella says “I’m celebrating money in the bank tonight, and I’m gonna take a selfie.” Kayla asks how Carmella earned her way into the match, and Carmella says “I am me. I’m beautiful, I mean hello?” Kayla follows up by asking about Carmella losing to Liv Morgan twice now, and Carmella completely ignores it, before listing off her own accomplishments. Carmella adds “I have to state the facts. I’m clearly the most beatiful women in WWE.” Kayla asks if Carmella has a strategy heading into the ladder match, and Carmella ignores the question. Pat presses the issue, wondering how Liv managed to beat Carmella twice, and Carmella ignores that question too. Carmella finally decides to respond, and tells Pat “I’m trying to make Liv relevant, but everyone is still talking about Carmella, because Mella is money honey.”

Big E

The former Intercontinental Champion joins the show, and he shoulder shimmy’s onto the set. Big E sends a shoutout to Wale, and trades chairs with Pat because “my chair is so low.” Pat tells Big E he can sit wherever he likes, and Kayla asks about E entering the Money In The Bank Ladder match for the first time. Big E reminisces about first times, and says “it’s my first time. You remember the feeling of your first right? Sometimes it’s quicker than you expected… and I’m excited about the things I’m going to be able to do.” Kayla says it must be satisfying for E to pick up a win over Apollo, and Big E tells her it’s great to win, but “I’m ready to step into the match. The goal is to win the briefcase, and my goal is to cash in. I want to keep everyone on their toes.” Pat tells Big E “you’re gonna win that thang man,” and E wonders when Pat will get in the ring. McAfee quickly shuts that down, leading to a promo about punters from Big E, who was “inspired” by Pat’s efforts against Adam Cole. Kayla thanks E for stopping by, and it’s time for another break.

**Commercial Break**

Seth Rollins

“The drip god” makes his way onto the show, and tells Pat he should be careful while head banging for Shinsuke Nakamura. Seth goes on to talk about the way he has “dominated” lately, and repeats “Rollins is rolling,” multiple times. Kayla asks about the return of Egde, and wonders if Seth is worried. Seth brings up his talk with WWE Officials, and explains “I’m important.” Kayla airs footage from after Smackdown, and Edge is shown stroming around backstage. Edge goes into the WWE Officials office, and demands a championship match at MITB. Adam Pearce gives Edge the match, and Seth is upset. Seth explains “you must have misheard that. There’s no way…they promised it to me. This is everything I worked for! I’m ready to be the next Universal Champion, not Edge! There has to be something we can do. I’m Seth Rollins, this place revolves around me!” Seth storms off set, and Talking Smack comes to a close.

That’s all for this weeks Talking Smack Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day everyone!
