Who is the leader of Team SmackDown heading into the annual brand versus brand showdown with Team Raw at this year’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view?
If you ask Drew McIntyre, the blue brand gang will be led to battle by “The Scottish Warrior” himself, although not all of his soldiers seem to feel the same way.
As noted, WWE announced the teams for the five-on-five men’s and women’s team versus team traditional elimination matches for the upcoming Survivor Series 2021 show later this month.
McIntyre took to social media following the announcement, noting he will be “leading the charge for Team SmackDown” in the match.
This ruffled “King” Xavier Woods’ feathers, as the 2021 WWE King of the Ring tournament winner fired back to McIntyre’s tweet by writing, “Leading?”
From there, the WWE on FOX Twitter feed and Seth Rollins also chimed in with comments.
The official Twitter feed for WWE On FOX wrote, “We don’t need internal fighting, King,” to which Woods responded, “I agree! Hence why I’m glad to lead these four champions into the battlefield. Also, what do we get when we win? I love fighting for more than the winners purse.”
Rollins, one of the members for Team Raw, then entered the mix by writing, “You will lose … handily. So don’t stress about the prize.” Woods shot back, “AKA you also have no idea what the winning team gets at Survivor Series.”
For those who missed it, WWE announced Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, Xavier Woods, Sami Zayn and Happy Corbin as the five members for Team SmackDown. They will be doing battle in the popular annual traditional Survivor Series five-on-five elimination match against Team Raw, which consists of Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio.
