Tessa Blanchard Pulled From Heavy Metal Wrestling "Cease and Destroy" Indy Show In San Antonio

Tessa Blanchard Losing Work Due To Racism & Bullying Controversy, Pulled From Indy Show In Texas

While she is still scheduled to make history when she challenges Sami Callihan for the IMPACT World Championship at tonight’s IMPACT Wrestling Hard To Kill 2020 pay-per-view, Tessa Blanchard has already begun losing work over the racism and bullying controversy that made a huge splash on the social media scene this weekend.

Heavy Metal Wrestling issued a short statement on Twitter announcing that IMPACT wrestler Tessa Blanchard has been removed from their January 24th “Cease and Destroy” event in San Antonio, Texas, where she was scheduled to face Rok-C.

The promotion states that they take the recent allegations made against the former IMPACT Knockouts Champion very serious, and will issue refunds to fans if necessary.

Check out the official statement from Walt of Heavy Metal Wrestling below.

“Tessa Blanchard has been removed from our scheduled event on January 24th, 2020. We take these allegations levied against her very seriously. An updated card will be released shortly. For refund information, please contact [email protected].”

On Saturday, NWA Women’s Champion Allysin Kay and NXT Superstar Chelsea Green called out Blanchard for racist remarks and bullying in response to Blanchard’s tweet about women supporting each other.

AEW’s Big Swole backed up the story about Blanchard calling fellow black star La Rosa “the N-word” at a WrestleCade event, something that she addressed with Blanchard personally.

Blanchard later denied Green’s allegations about bullying, stating that she’s a different person now. She did, however, avoid the advertised “IMPACT Wrestling Hard To Kill PPV Media Day, where she was scheduled to take part in a Q&A to promote her history-making IMPACT World Championship title shot in the main event against current title-holder Sami Callihan.
