— Yesterday, WWE and The Rock through their social media channels announced that he would be making a surprise appearance tonight on WWE Friday Night Smackdown. The Rock followed it up on Instagram with a comment hinting at what his involvement will look like. In a reply, he wrote:
“The Final Boss is coming to handle business, deliver a big beautiful gift to the city of New Orleans and fuck up a certain someone’s life with the Final Boss gospel.”
— The “beautiful gift to the city of New Orleans” almost surely will be the official announcement that next year’s WrestleMania 42 will be headed back once again to that city though it’s unclear who he is targeting in the last part of the message. While there are no indications that The Rock will wrestle at WrestleMania 41 in April, tonight’s show is likely to give a big hint at what the plans are for him over the next few months.
