TNA Undergoes Major Restructuring; Josh Mathews, Christy Hemme Released

— Earlier today, TNA Wrestling underwent numerous, significant leadership changes that affected multiple positions. PWInsiderelite.com reports that Anthony Cicione, who served as the President of TNA as well as parent company Anthem Entertainment Group is done with his role for TNA, which he was in for a year, but will remain with Anthem.

— In Cicione’s place, a new executive was hired and his name is George Veras. Veras has worked with ABC Sports, NBC, CBS’ NFL Today series, The Cleveland Browns and many more over the year. As is often the case when a new Executive takes over and looks to install his own hand-picked team, it led to a cascade effect involving positions under him as it led to the departures of Josh Mathews and Christy Hemme. Mathews was a Senior Producer and and Senior Director of Digital Media while Hemme managed the company’s social media activities.

— Mark Brown, who worked as a Director for Ring of Honor as well as with working in the North American live events department for NJPW has joined TNA as a Director. He has actually been backstage at multiple shows as of late so him joining the leadership team isn’t a total surprise.

— Meanwhile, John E. Bravo and Ingrid Isley are now joining the Talent Relations department of TNA which is led by Gail Kim. Bravo has been with TNA for a number of years in many different roles and is considered a “trusted backstage asset” while Isley has been the floor manager at TNA events. Both are well liked internally so their promotions were also not a surprise. For those who are wondering, all of the TNA changes appear to be outside of the creative team, so there doesn’t appear to be any changes on that front.
