Tony Khan is not Ted Turner.
Yes, they have both been billionaire owners of the main competitor to WWE in the pro wrestling / sports entertainment landscape at one time or another, but that is where the similarities end.
At least that is how Khan sees things.
The AEW President took to social media over the weekend to comment on the consistent comparisons he has heard regarding himself and the former WCW owner.
“I’ve never met Ted Turner,” wrote Khan via his official Twitter page on Friday in a promotional post he released ahead of Rampage on TNT. “It’s very possible Ted Turner is smarter than me, but he didn’t know 1% of what I know about professional wrestling or WCW would still be on TNT/TBS.”
He added, “AEW is here to stay!”
