— Bryan Danielson is scheduled to be in the main event of this weekend’s AEW All In from London but according to what he said in a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, he is currently competing in AEW without a contract.
“I have no contract right now. Yeah, I’m just not under contract, which is crazy. Tony and I have talked. I’ll always pick up the phone when he calls… if I’m by my phone, have to put that out there because he called me last night but it was at 9:30 at night Pacific time and I was already asleep.”
“The first thing that I’ll have to do when I’m done wrestling, the thing that is my priority is get my neck better, which probably involves some type of neck surgery sooner rather than later. So, that will be my first order of business and then I’ll help AEW where I can. I love AEW so I want to help as much as I can and as much as they want my help, I’m willing to participate.”
— Danielson also seemed unaware if he’s gotten any communication from other promotions given that he’s technically a free agent, noting that it’s possible someone has contacted him since he has almost 4,000 unread text messages.
— When speaking on his other roles within AEW, Danielson stated that being part of the company’s disciplinary committee is not something he finds fun but is honored to be considered a level-headed wrestler who represents the wrestler’s perspective well. He also noted that he assists Tony Khan with AEW’s creative but ultimately most of what is on TV are Tony’s ideas calling Khan a “brilliant mind” when it comes to wrestling. Once his wrestling career wraps up, he isn’t sure what role(s) would be in store for him.
