NXT New Year's Evil 2021 Updates

Top NXT Star To Move To SmackDown For Main Event Rivalry, Could Affect NXT New Year’s Evil (UPDATED w/ *SPOILER*)

It looks like a familiar face from the WWE’s black-and-gold brand could be moving up to the main roster in the very near future.

According to a new report from the Wrestle Votes account on Twitter, which has broken multiple exclusive behind-the-scenes stories from the world of WWE and NXT in the recent past, the WWE creative team is currently putting together a plan that will result in a top NXT Superstar being brought up to the main roster on the WWE Friday Night SmackDown brand.

Apparently the reason for this is because WWE wants to use this person in a “main event segment” that currently features Kevin Owens in an ongoing rivalry with WWE Universal Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and his cousin, Jey Uso.

It’s worth noting that said-talent is booked for tonight’s major NXT New Year’s Evil 2021 show, so it’s unclear whether this planned angle for the WWE Friday Night SmackDown brand has been pushed back, scrapped altogether, or will go on regardless of the involvement of the NXT Superstar of note that is scheduled to work tonight’s New Year’s special for the WWE black-and-gold brand.
