Triple H & Stephanie McMahon Attend Fury-Wilder 2 (Photo), WWE EVP Issues Statement After Fury’s Win

After establishing a working relationship with Tyson Fury for his WWE match against Braun Strowman at the WWE Crown Jewel 2019 pay-per-view in Saudi Arabia, WWE EVP Paul “Triple H” Levesque was in attendance with his wife, fellow WWE executive Stephanie McMahon, to witness “The Gypsy King” score a seventh-round TKO victory over “The Bronze Bomber” Deontay Wilder to capture the WBC Heavyweight Championship.

“The Game” took to social media after the fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, February 22nd, sharing a photo of himself with Stephanie in the crowd at the event and commenting on Fury’s eventual victory over the previously undefeated knockout artist.

With the victory, Fury, who entered the fight as the undefeated Lineal Boxing Heavyweight Championship, captured Wilder’s WBC title and remains the only undefeated champion in heavyweight boxing.

The fight on Saturday night was a historic rematch of the epic first encounter between Fury and Wilder, which ended via split-decision draw after 12 rounds. The fight saw Wilder knock Fury down in the ninth and again viciously in the 12th before the fight ultimately went to the scorecards. The judges split three ways, with one giving the fight to Fury, another to Wilder and the third and deciding judge scoring the fight even.

At Saturday night’s rematch, “The Gypsy King” delivered as promised, going right at the man touted as the owner of the single most devastating knockout punch in professional boxing history, and brawling with him, exchanging punches voluntarily and scoring two knockdowns of Wilder before his corner ultimately threw in the towel to end the bout in the seventh round.

Wilder was feared to have suffered a broken jaw, and potential ear-drum damage, as well as the usual swelling, cuts, bumps and bruises that come with a heavyweight prize fight.

With the win, Fury will move on to remain the only undefeated heavyweight champion in boxing, and will no doubt be expected to find a way to get a fight signed, sealed and delivered against fellow British heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
