Paul “Triple H” Levesque recently spoke with ABC News to promote tonight’s WWE RAW 25th Anniversary special.
During the interview, “The Game” spoke at length about the iconic moment on RAW that saw “Stone Cold” Steve Austin deliver his first-ever “Stone Cold Stunner” to Vince McMahon at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
As HHH explained, the rivalry between Austin and McMahon changed the business and shaped the future of WWE, something he feels Vince doesn’t like to take credit for.
“He doesn’t like to take credit for it, but Vince is the guiding force of [being a top bad guy],” said HHH. “He’s never afraid to take that risk. He never feels like he knows the answers.”
Also during the interview, HHH was asked if Vince McMahon possibly relaunching the XFL will take him away from WWE.
“I don’t think there’s any sense of change,” said Triple H. “If anybody thinks they’re going to push him out or take this thing, there’s going to be a hell of a fight.”
