Undertaker Reveals How He Wants His WWE Retirement To Be Handled, Thoughts On WWE HOF Induction

The Undertaker recently spoke to People to hype up his new Last Ride documentary, which premiered yesterday on the WWE Network, and revealed how he wants to retire from WWE and shed some light on his thoughts about a WWE Hall Of Fame induction speech.

“The Deadman” discussed a possible future retirement speech for WWE, something he says he doesn’t see fitting for his character after so many years.

“When you’re thinking of the old school Undertaker, that’s not a character that comes down to the ring and says, ‘Thank you for being with me for 30 years. It’s been a great career. I want to thank…'” said The Phenom of WWE. “That’s not what that guy does if you’re being true to the character and what people want to see.”

Additionally, he would go on to compare the sendoff of legendary NFL Quarterback John Elway of the Denver Broncos as a path he would like to mimic with his career in WWE.

“I’ve had this amazing career, I’ve been so blessed to have this career and far exceeded the expectations of when I got in this business,” The Undertaker told People. “Out I kind of want the John Elway ending, you know? The John Elway ending, when he went out and he won a couple of Super Bowls and then retired.”

He also spoke about longtime Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos Quarterback Peyton Manning as another example.

“Or Peyton Manning, he wins the Super Bowl, then retired,” he said. “When I’m looking at it, I want that match, that match when it’s just like, ‘Oh yeah. Bam. I still got it. I got gas in the tank, I tore it down. Now walk away.'”
