In a follow-up to a story from earlier today, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio confirmed that Finn Balor will be taking some time off beginning after SummerSlam.

Balor’s request for a “sabbatical” is not hinged on any sort of unhappiness (such as the situation with Rusev) but rather it seems like he wants a rest.

WWE agreed to the leave of absence as long as Balor committed to working through SummerSlam, where he is expected to put over Bray Wyatt.

It was re-iterated that there is no question of Balor leaving WWE.
