It looks like Mickie James has some really awful luck as of late when it comes to performing inside the squared circle.
As noted by our own eWrestling.com Monday Night Raw reporter Jamie Rush (@JamieRush312) in a previous article, the ending to the Mickie James vs. Asuka match on this week’s “In Your Face” edition of Raw was a peculiar one to say the least.
The women’s title match between Asuka vs. Mickie James last night ended in confusion with even the announcers wondering whether James submitted. The match resulted in Asuka being announced as the winner, but in a very odd fashion that was never properly explained during the broadcast.
WWE’s official statement on the matter is that James was unable to continue the match so the referee stopped it.
On Twitter, veterans Mick Foley and Lance Storm believed James may have injured her shoulder, leading to the stoppage.
I’m hearing that @MickieJames may have injured her shoulder in tonight’s #Raw match – which would explain the quick ending to the match.
If true, I’m wishing Mickie a quick and complete recovery…and hoping she gets another shot at the title. https://t.co/gf69VD5ahB

Additionally, James herself took to Instagram, however her only comments were cryptic in nature.
“Not…Like…This…” read the caption to her IG post, which featured a freeze-frame of the shocked look on her face during the aforementioned peculiar finish to the Asuka match on Raw.
The caption also included a broken heart emoji, perhaps which along with the content of the caption could be signs that the shoulder injury speculation by Foley and Storm is legitimate.
We will keep you posted here at eWrestling.com as updates continue to surface regarding the status of Mickie James and the peculiar finish to her match with Asuka on Monday Night Raw this week.
