It looks like Rusev might not be the only former WWE and/or WWE NXT Superstar rumored to make the move to IMPACT Wrestling at the company’s upcoming Slammiversary 2020 pay-per-view on July 18th.
On this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, the company once again aired a promo teasing the signing of a new wrestler, this time teasing that “at least one former world champion will make his return to Impact Wrestling” at the Slammiversary pay-per-view event scheduled for 7/18.
The promo, which mimicked a sports broadcast, then cut to brief clips of several wrestlers including Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Sting, Kurt Angle, Eric Young and EC3.
Flags of Canada and Bulgaria were also shown.
Interestingly, also on the show after Moose’s victory over Hernandez, EC3’s old Impact theme music hit before it was stopped and Moose’s came on, which would appear to be a major hint that EC3 is likely one of the former champs set to return.
As noted, EC3 released a video teasing an ROH debut coming soon this week as well, and Rusev outright addressed the rumors that the teaser promo might be referencing him debuting at Slammiversary on 7/18.
