While there are conflicting reports regarding how he chose to handle the situation, Vince McMahon was said to be absolutely angry and upset at the main event of the WWE Survivor Series 2019 pay-per-view last month.
In a follow-up to an earlier story about McMahon being upset at the main event at Survivor Series, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com adds that Vince was “mad” as the match was going on, and there was a story going around backstage that he was calling in high spots to the referee to tell the wrestlers what to do.
However, some dispute the latter rumor, suggesting only that McMahon was angry but didn’t go so far as to be calling in spots on the fly.
The match itself was supposed to be a vehicle to push Shayna Baszler and this report notes that the three wrestlers worked on, and practiced the match beforehand but it still had several awkward spots that obviously didn’t sit well with the WWE Chairman.
