Chris Jericho

Veteran AEW Wrestler Gaining Interest From WWE, Other Wrestling Promotions As Free Agency Nears

As previously reported, the future of pro wrestling legend Chris Jericho has recently become a topic of speculation. His contract with AEW is set to expire at the end of 2025, leading to rumors that he may be considering a move to WWE.

According to Fightful Select, there has been no indication that Jericho is being considered for any creative roles in AEW; he typically discusses his creative input only with Tony Khan. Sources within AEW have stated that Jericho’s relationship with the company remains strong, although no one close to him has shared his thoughts on the situation.

Sean Ross Sapp added that several global and national promotions, including WWE, are interested in Jericho. However, there are no reports of any direct conversations between Jericho and WWE regarding a return or any creative ideas being discussed. Nevertheless, higher-ups in WWE have mentioned Jericho, with one source claiming that he would almost certainly be offered “several million dollars” a year to return to the company. This same source suggested that AEW could potentially match such an offer, but they are uncertain about Jericho’s motivations.

As of now, Jericho has not publicly addressed his plans for after 2025, but updates will be provided as they become available.
