During the show, the obvious topic of Cena's breakup with Nikki Bella was discussed. Cena spoke with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, who asked about his five-year relationship with the fellow WWE Superstar and recent Dancing with the Stars contestant ending.
Cena claimed he got his heart broken out of nowhere with the breakup, but said he is leaving the door open for the two to get back together in the future.
"I still love Nicole," said Cena during the show on Monday morning. "I still would love to marry Nicole. I still would love to have a family with Nicole.
"I don't want anybody else," Cena added. "I love Nicole, and I'm really trying to support her in her trying to find whatever it is that she wants that made this fall apart in the first place, and in doing so, I'm also just trying to live."
Cena concluded, "I don't have any other hopes, other than maybe one day that we can work it out."
