As noted, WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels returned as a special guest referee at the NXT live event in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas on Saturday evening.

Michaels, who worked the main event that featured NXT World Champion Drew McIntyre defending against Adam Cole, ended up getting involved in the physical action, dusting off his “Sweet Chin Music” finisher at the event that preceeded tonight’s NXT TakeOver: WarGames live WWE Network special. The match saw McIntyre defeat Cole to retain his title.
