As advertised, WCW legend Bill Goldberg made his WWE return at Monday night’s edition of RAW in Denver, Colorado.
In the very last segment of the show this week, Goldberg made his triumphant return to World Wrestling Entertainment, receiving the full entrance treatment to his old theme music, in front of an electrified sold out crowd in attendance at the Pepsi Center.
Goldberg received a standing ovation once he entered the ring, and a number of chants including “Holy Sh*t,” “This Is Awesome!” and “Welcome Back” broke out, before Goldberg finally spoke several minutes into the segment.
The former WCW Champion mentioned that it has been 12 years since he has been in the ring in WWE and thanked the fans for not forgetting about him.
He went on to point out the personal significance of the moment, mentioning that it is the first-time ever that his wife or son has seen him in the ring in WWE live. The camera panned over to Goldberg’s family, who looked proud to see the head of the house doing his thing.
Went things got down to WWE business, Goldberg went on to respond to Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar, accepting their challenge and noting that he might have one more Spear left in him. He said Lesnar is not only “Next,” but “Last.”
