Vince McMahon Nixes Strowman vs. Lesnar; More on Rumble Main Event

– As noted over the last few days, WWE has settled on a triple threat match for the Royal Rumble which will pit Brock Lesnar against Braun Strowman and Kane. Many different ideas were tossed around regarding the main event beginning the day after Survivor Series when Vince McMahon made the call that the previously planned Lesnar vs. Finn Balor match was off, a bout that was planned for more than six months.

— Internally, there was a push by some to have Strowman step up to face Lesnar again, but Vince nixed that too saying that the timing was not right for Brock to beat Braun again. The three way that now involves Kane – likely as the fall guy – has been decided upon by McMahon dating back about two weeks though it has yet to be officially announced.

— As is always the case with Vince, he can always still change his mind at the last minute but with Lesnar scheduled for this coming Monday’s Raw, there should definitely be some sort of announcement or clear message on what direction the company is going.
