Vince McMahon Reportedly Had Wild Idea For Ronda Rousey To Eliminate Everyone In Women’s WWE Royal Rumble

— Yesterday, a report emerged that indicated that several women within WWE were frustrated with the state of the Women’s Division notably with creative pitches being denied and not as much TV being given compared to their male counterparts.

— In a follow-up report, fightfulselect.com reports that while frustrations are present, it is nowhere near the levels from three years ago around the 2022 Royal Rumble which seemed to be when things hit rock bottom. This was around the time that respected producer and an advocate for the Women’s Division, TJ Wilson (Tyson Kidd) decided to walk away from his role for a period believed to be due to not being on the same page with former CEO Vince McMahon.

— In a specific situation, the report added that in the early planning stages of the Women’s Rumble in 2022, Vince McMahon’s idea was to have a returning Ronda Rousey – wrestling in her first match in over 2.5 years – eliminate the entire field of wrestlers entered in the match. According to the story, McMahon was “very steadfast” in wanting to put over Rousey in that manner since WWE had signed her to a full-time contract for all of 2022. Ultimately, Rousey was brought back, entered towards the end of the match, eliminated a few wrestlers but still ended up winning the match. The other wrestler pitched as a potential winner that year was Sasha Banks.

— There was also said to be frustration with the usage of legends and others that were brought in for the match as Vince had clear instructions for them to “get in and get out” which is why competitors including Summer Rae, Sarah Logan, Cameron, Kelly Kelly, Melina, Molly Holly and Ivory all spent a minute or even less time in the match. Meanwhile, WWE had reached out to Peyton Royce, Billie Kay and Nia Jax to compete in the Rumble but all three declined with one specifically saying it was because TJ Wilson wasn’t involved in constructing the match.
