Vince McMahon Comes In At No. 1

Vince McMahon Signs Employee Contract With WWE; Nick Khan Gets Raise

– A recent SEC filing by WWE corporate noted that Vince McMahon has signed a contract as an employee of the company where he will be paid a base salary, a bonus as well as stock options and he will continue in his role as Chairman for another two years with the agreement renewing for every one year after that unless either party gives a 180-day notice to end.

– Under terms of the agreement, McMahon also will own his legal name and any variants such as “Mr. McMahon” as well as his image, voice, likeness and other distinguishing characteristics. He will also have exclusive rights to control any biography, life story and personal experiences but will grant WWE non-exclusive right to use that intellectual property.

– As an employee, Vince will earn $1.2 million in base salary as well as a target bonus opportunity of 175% and an annual stock grant of $4.3 million which would be subject to performance metrics. If WWE terminates his position without cause or if he terminates it for good reason, McMahon would be eligible to receive a comprehensive severance package that would include a lump sum cash payment equal to double his then-current salary, another lump sum payment worth double his annual bonus as well as health and welfare benefits for two years following the termination.

– In the same SEC filing, it was revealed that WWE CEO Nick Khan’s compensation is increasing from $1.35 million annually to $1.5 million and his annual target bonus opportunity is moving up from 160% to 175% due to his role as the sole CEO following Stephanie McMahon’s departure.
