Best friends turned to bitter enemies in the blink-of-an-eye on this week’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
And no, we’re not referring to “The Bloodline” coming apart with new “Paul Heyman Guy” Roman Reigns being lined up against his cousin for his first pay-per-view defense of his WWE Universal Championship.
After coming up short in their attempt to recapture the WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championships that they lost to the team of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax at the recent WWE Payback 2020 pay-per-view, former tag-team champions Sasha Banks and Bayley saw their happy dream of holding all of the gold turn into a miserable nightmare on the weekly WWE on FOX television show this week.
Baszler and Jax managed to again defeat the former title-holders in an immediate rematch for the championships on the post-Payback episode of Friday Night SmackDown, leading to a brutal post-match attack from Bayley to “The Boss.”
Bayley viciously assaulted her longtime friend and tag-team partner in an extended post-match beat-down that lasted several minutes and concluded with Banks being taken out of the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida via an ambulance when Bayley wrapped a steel chair around her neck and stomped on it after leaping off the middle rope.
The match itself saw Banks selling a leg injury and once the two were both pinned in a double pin-fall spot to end the contest, Bayley pushed medical staff away from “The Boss” and acted like she was going to help her up herself, only for her to level her with a big shot and attack her injured leg, slamming it into the steel ring steps.
We will keep you posted here at eWrestling.com as updates continue to surface regarding the planned direction for the rivalry between Sasha Banks and SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
