Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson sounded off on the “Talk ‘N’ Shop” podcast this week about the rumors of behind-the-scenes issues in WWE between Paul Heyman and AJ Styles prior to the company releasing the former Executive Director of Monday Night Raw.
During their appearance on the show, Anderson and Gallows, who have announced their IMPACT Wrestling signing and confirmed that they will be at Slammiversary 2020 tonight, shed some light on the Styles and Heyman situation that led to “The Phenomenal One” calling the founder of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) a “liar” and according to many reports, pushed Styles to request a move to the SmackDown brand.
The duo basically confirmed the heat between Styles and Heyman and it all started when they were told by a “source” that their release from WWE was “inspired” by Heyman. When they mentioned this to Styles, he confirmed it with another source and then confronted Heyman about it, which Paul denied. Gallows and Anderson then reconfirmed with their source and so Styles then went right to Vince McMahon, who revealed that their releases was a “Heyman thing” and the tag team speculated that Paul probably though they were making too much money given their small roles on Raw.
Finally, they also confirmed that in the end Styles “felt a little guilty” about their releases and thus, concluded Heyman was a liar, which then resulted in him asking to be moved off of Raw. However, they did also concede that in the end, Vince ultimately has the last say on everything.
