Following this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, we have our first confirmed championship match for this year’s WrestleMania.
After winning the Men’s Rumble match at the 2020 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view this past Sunday night, Drew McIntyre wasted no time kicking off the special “Road to WrestleMania” edition of WWE RAW by immediately announcing which title he will be challenging for on “The Grandest Stage of Them All” this April.
“The Scottish Psychopath” skipped the usual lengthy build up to such an announcement, pointing out that he is not looking to waste any time in making it clear who he intends to go after at WrestleMania 36.
McIntyre then revealed that he chooses Brock Lesnar and the WWE Championship as his desired opponent and title opportunity when the “Road to WrestleMania” culminates with the annual spectacle scheduled for Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Sunday, April 5th.
The 2020 Men’s Royal Rumble winner then went on to face The O.C.’s Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows in a two-on-one handicap match on the show. He would pick up the impressive victory just as fast as he made his WrestleMania 36 announcement to open up the evening at WWE RAW inside the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
After the match, however, McIntyre’s streak of dominance was brought to a screeching halt when he ended up the victim of a sneak attack from behind at the hands of “The Beast Incarnate” himself — Brock Lesnar.
The reigning WWE Champion took out the soon-to-be title challenger with his F-5 finisher before posing with his title and heading to the backstage area with his advocate, Paul Heyman, trailing behind.
Following the opening segment on this week’s episode of WWE RAW, the advertising immediately began for the Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 36.
