The first finalist in the TBS Women’s Championship Tournament has been determined.
Ruby Soho defeated Nyla Rose in the first of two semifinal matches in the TBS Women’s title tourney at the AEW Dynamite: Holiday Bash special event on Wednesday night.
With the victory over Rose at Wednesday’s show at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, the AEW women’s contender will now wait to see who emerges on the other side of the bracket as her opponent for the tournament finals.
As noted, Jade Cargill vs. Thunder Rosa in the other tourney semifinal bout has been announced for next Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite: New Year’s Smash 2021 special event.
The show also serves as the final episode of AEW Dynamite in the TNT era, as the New Year’s Smash 2021 special event next week will mark the final show before the program moves to its’ new home on TBS on January 5.
The winner of the Cargill-Rosa match at the New Year’s Smash 2021 special event on 12/29 will move on to face Soho in the tourney finals, with the winner of that match becoming the inaugural TBS Women’s Champion.
