In addition to Tony Khan, the AEW World Champion Jon Moxley took part in a post-show media scrum after his successful title defense against MJF in the main event of the ALL OUT 2020 pay-per-view this past Saturday night.
During Moxley’s post-show scrum, the leader of the “Paradigm Shift” in the pro wrestling industry spoke about his desire to see more of a cross-promotional working relationship between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), another promotion he still has ties to.
“I’m not shy about the fact that I wish we had some type of agreement with New Japan, I’m obviously still a part of that roster,” Moxley said after the AEW PPV over the weekend. “And I think there’s a lot of benefits to it. I’m not saying, we’re obviously different companies with different products and different business plans. So it’s not like we gotta be married at the hip or anything like that, you know?”
Moxley would go on to elaborate on the subject of a potential AEW-NJPW talent-sharing arrangement, giving some specific examples of how the two companies could work together in a way that would benefit all involved, and talking about his willingness to defend the AEW World Championship wherever the company gives him permission to.
“But you know, maybe a New Japan guy pops up for here or there, or some of our young guys go over and do a super junior tournament to gain experience,” Moxley said. “I think that’ll be great for everybody. So I’m all about that. I’ll take this belt anywhere they want me to take it.”
