WWE Hall Of Fame legend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently sat down for an extensive “1-on-1 with Ryan Satin” interview for FOX Sports to promote the upcoming new season of his reality series, “Straight Up Steve Austin” on the USA Network.

During the discussion, “The Texas Rattlesnake” reflected back on his memories in the WWE Royal Rumble 30-man over-the-top-rope battle royal match and explained why he isn’t overly fond of the match itself.

Featured below are some of the highlights from the new interview, as well as a complete video archive of the 25-plus minute discussion between Steve Austin and former WWE Backstage On FS1 analyst Ryan Satin.

On the reasons why he isn’t overly fond of Royal Rumble matches: “So many things that can’t go wrong because everything’s gotta work out. You know what I’m speaking of, without just spelling it out.”

On memories from his first Royal Rumble match: “I’ll never forget in San Diego at my first Royal Rumble. I was supposed to be the fourth guy left in the ring and Rikishi, or somebody, gave me a clothesline and the ropes were so baby oiled up from everybody wearing baby oil, I slipped.

“There was a bunch of guys in the ring and I went out way early. I hit the ground, and I’m still pretty new in the company at this time, Ryan, but they’re gonna try to keep me in the Rumble, so they’re giving me a little bit of a push and I blew it!”
