— More news on the status of CM Punk with AEW continues to emerge after he was left off promotional material for the new Collision show that debuts next month. The obvious two reasons for the omission were either that AEW and Punk’s negotiations for a return have stalled or that he is still factored into plans but simply was kept off the poster and press release for either creative or personal reasons.
— When asked about why Punk was included in an email announcing the Collision launch but removed from the official press release that soon followed, Warner Bros. Discovery sources reportedly noted that he was “not affiliated” with Collision in any way, however, fightfulselect.com reports that there are “still plans” with Punk as of this week and he was only removed from the promotional material though no reason was given, apart from a suggestion that Punk himself didn’t want to be included in the announcement.
— Punk’s involvement with AEW has also reportedly featured regular contact with owner Tony Khan and the fightfulselect report also stated that there’s a possibility that Ace Steel, who was assumed to be completely gone from the promotion forever, could be brought back as well. Punk has been open to work with The Elite, but has specifically pushed for FTR and Andrade to be involved in the new show with him.
