With just hours remaining before the first-ever WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view, there is still no word on what match, if any, will be taking part during the Kickoff Show pre-show.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio at F4WOnline.com, Dave Meltzer (@DaveMeltzerWON) spoke about the pre-show still not having a match advertised.
According to the longtime editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, if a new match is not announced leading into tonight’s show, it is expected that Tony Nese vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak triple-threat match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, or the Daniel Bryan & Rowan vs. Heavy Machinery match for the SmackDown Tag-Team Championship will air during the hour-long Kickoff Show.
Additionally, Meltzer noted it was interesting that The Revival vs. The Usos for the RAW Tag-Team Championship was not booked for the WWE Stomping Grounds PPV considering all of the angles between the two in recent weeks. If the match is not added to the pre-show for the PPV, it is possible that the match is being saved for the next PPV, or even the post-Stomping Grounds edition of RAW on Monday night.
