It looks like some changes could be coming to the historic, first-ever women’s main event at WrestleMania 35.
After capturing the SmackDown Women’s Championship from Asuka on Tuesday night’s edition of SmackDown Live, there is talk that a unique stipulation could be added to the Triple-Threat Match.
The match, which features RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. “The Man” Becky Lynch, could feature a stipulation where the possibility of a unified Women’s Champion could come to life.
Dave Meltzer (@DaveMeltzerWON) reported on a recent episode of his Wrestling Observer Radio podcast that there is talk of a “Winner Take All” or an “All On The Line” stipulation being added to the match.
According to the longtime editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the stipulation would be one where if anyone pins another champion, they would become champion. For example, if Lynch pinned Rousey, she would become the RAW Women’s Champion. If she pins Charlotte, she would become the SmackDown Women’s Champion. If Charlotte or Rousey pinned each other, they would become a unified double Women’s Champion.
It’s worth noting that as is the case with any major WWE storyline, particularly a top angle for WrestleMania, things could — and probably will — change a hundred times before the bell rings at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday, April 7th.
