Based on the developments at the WWE Royal Rumble 2020 pay-per-view on Sunday night in Houston, Texas, the top matches for WrestleMania 36 show this April in Tampa, Florida appear to be locked in.
After winning the Men’s Royal Rumble match at the PPV, Drew McIntyre appears lined up to challenge reigning WWE Champion Brock Lesnar for the title shot he earned by winning the Rumble.
As far as the WWE Universal Championship picture is concerned, the word making the rounds is that Roman Reigns will be moved in to challenge “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt for the title on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
Another strongly rumored featured bout expected for this year’s WrestleMania 36 card is WWE Hall Of Fame legend Edge, who returned as a surprise entrant at number 21 in the Men’s Royal Rumble match at Sunday’s show, taking on longtime rival Randy Orton in a one-on-one contest.
Finally, it has been heavily speculated by sources “in the know” that former NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler, who WWE originally had scheduled to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match this year, is set for a significant spot on the WrestleMania 36 lineup.
Charlotte Flair moves on to challenge for either the RAW or SmackDown Women’s Championship following her victory in the Women’s Royal Rumble match at Sunday night’s PPV, and the belief is that whichever title-holder she doesn’t face will be the one that Baszler does get matched up against.
