The card for the show taking place on “The Grandest Stage of them All” keeps taking shape as the “Road To WrestleMania 36” continued this week with story line advancements — and even a couple of significant featured matches formally announced — for WWE’s biggest annual pay-per-view event coming up in April in Tampa, Florida.
As of this week, The Undertaker was not booked to be on the WrestleMania 36 card, however according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com, the two sides are “in discussions” regarding his participation at this year’s show.
Despite multiple reports over the past few months that WWE was looking at having Brock Lesnar face either Cain Velasquez, Tyson Fury or Edge at WrestleMania 36, none of those rumors were ever true from the beginning, according to the aforementioned source.
The decision ended up getting finalized after the plans for this year’s Rumble matches were locked in to go with “The Scottish Psychopath” Drew McIntyre, despite a significant behind-the-scenes push for Aleister Black, who is as of late is reportedly said to be a “major Paul Heyman project.”.
Apparently the reason the spot was ultimately given to McIntyre is because he was considered to be the “more over” (bigger star in the eyes of the mass-WWE fanbase) wrestler between the two.
WrestleMania 36 is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 5th, streaming LIVE on the WWE Network and on pay-per-view from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Make sure to join us here at eWrestling.com on 4/5 for live WrestleMania results coverage.
