WWE Aggressively Trying To Lock Down Talent, Others Interested In All Elite Upstart Promotion

Tony Khan, the son of Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan, is the main person behind the All Elite Wrestling. Tony is a well known wrestling fan and is good friends with The Young Bucks. The Elite group, which technically consists of Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Marty Scurll, and Adam Page are obviously key to the launch of AEW to the extent that if the Young Bucks were to sign with WWE, the project likely wouldn’t even get of the ground. All of them have vowed to stick together in 2019 when their respective contracts expire.

WWE meanwhile has been aggressive in trying to sign up any independent talent in order to try their best to close the door on a new promotion. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, back in 1993, Vince McMahon thought that WCW was dead and as it turned around a few years later, WCW stepped up and started winning the Monday Night Ratings war. The Observer also reports that when news of this story broke earlier in the week, several WWE talents were interested.
