WWE Cameo Deal In The Works?

WWE Banned Talent From Third-Party Deals Because They’re Negotiating Their Own Deal With Cameo

The details regarding the new edict given behind-the-scenes to talent in WWE where the performers of the company are now banned from engaging in financially beneficial deals with third-party social media platforms such as Cameo and Twitch.

And boy is this latest update an interesting one.

The belief is that WWE’s recent communication reminding talent that they shouldn’t be using the company’s trademarks in third-party platforms was primarily due to recent dealings that Superstars were having with Cameo, and apparently for a very specific reason — it was going to effect the company in negotiations for their own company-wide deal with the third-party platform.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of his weekly Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4W Online that WWE wants to work out a relationship with Cameo at the corporate level or work with another third-party platform of similar nature, if not starting their own competing platform.

No matter which route they end up choosing, officials believed that talent making their own individual deals would significantly hurt the company’s overall bargaining power if and when they were to negotiate with Cameo or another similar service.

We will keep you posted here at eWrestling.com as updates continue to surface regarding the interesting behind-the-scenes saga regarding WWE and their talent engaging with third-party platforms such as Twitch and Cameo.
