WWE is reportedly bringing back its all-women’s Evolution PLE.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE plans to revive the Evolution event this summer. The news was first reported by Cory Hays of PWNexus earlier this month, who indicated that the PLE is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 5, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
“After speaking with sources, we can confirm WWE is set to bring back the highly anticipated ‘Evolution’ PLE this summer,” WrestleVotes wrote. “The return of the all-women’s event is expected to be officially announced before WrestleMania.”

The inaugural WWE Evolution took place in Long Island, New York, in October 2018. Although the event was well-received by fans, it didn’t become an annual occurrence. Notable matches included Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella and Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair, along with appearances from legendary women from previous eras of WWE.
At the time of Evolution 2018, women were still prohibited from wrestling at WWE events in Saudi Arabia, and the event was seen by some as a response to the criticism WWE faced for this. However, in 2019, Saudi Arabia hosted its first WWE women’s match.
