It looks like WWE is beginning the build towards a super-showdown between Asuka and Becky Lynch in 2020.
Coming out of the recently completed TLC PPV, the plan for the women’s title picture was to build towards a Becky Lynch vs. Asuka program, presumably to take place at the 2020 Royal Rumble – which would be the one-year anniversary of their match where Asuka beat Lynch clean.
At the time, when Lynch ended up winning the historic WrestleMania match, Asuka was expected to be one of her next challengers but things changed and the storyline was dropped and forgotten.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter at F4WOnline.com, Paul Heyman made the call “months ago” to go back to Asuka/Lynch for early 2020.
We will keep you posted on the Asuka/Becky Lynch story here at eWrestling.com as more details continue to surface!
