WWE The Bump Full Recap

It’s Wednesday again, and that means it’s time for another episode of the WWE YouTube show, The Bump! Today’s edition of the show is full of top notch guests, including Austin Theory, Johnny Gargano, Big E, and Otis. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump!

Talking Smack

⁃ Kayla kicks The Bump by telling viewers “we’re gonna have a good time”, and she runs down the list of guests that’ll be on the show today.
⁃ The rest of The Bump crew joins the show, and they each share general thoughts about the latest episodes of Smackdown, Raw, and NXT.
⁃ After Matt, Ryan, and Evan wrap up their opening thoughts, Kayla brings on the first guest.

Big E

Big E joins the show, and he’s quite jovial this morning. Kayla starts things off by asking about E’s latest victory, and Big E tells her “I’ve never been in a Money In The Bank match. That should be dope.” Big E sends a quick shout out to Malcolm Bivens, and Kayla asks if it felt to defeat Apollo. E explains “Crews is an incredible talent. Beating a guy like him means something. When it comes to Money In The Bank, you can win that briefcase, and your fortunes can change just like that. I’m looking forward to the opportunities.” Matt chimes in, and he wonders if Crews has thrown Big E off of his game at all. E responds, and he explains “I’ve said many times that he is. My goal was to win the IC title and main event next years wrestlemania. He messed that up.” Ryan asks his first question, and he wants to know when Big E will set his sights on capturing the IC title again. E tells Ryan “I want to go into Summerslam draped will belts and briefcases.” Evan wonders how E feels about the Money In The Bank ladder match, and Big E thanks the fans for helping him with his energy, before stating “I’m excited to get in there and go grab the briefcase.” Kayla follows up by looking forward to this Friday, and she talks about the Zayn/Owens qualifying match on Smackdown. Big E says “I’m pulling for Kevin. He and Sami have been locking horns for decades, and I’m intrigued to see what they do. I know it will be a barn burner.” Matt points out that this will be E’s first singles ladder match, and E tells him “I was gonna go to Home Depot and start climbing ladders. I want to get comfortable with the ladder, maybe have a nap on it, a little private time with it. I’m just trying it out.” Ryan points out that Kofi Kingston and Big E could win the WWE Championship and Money In The Bank briefcase on the same night, and E shares his reaction to the current MVP/Kingston storyline on Raw. E says “watching Kofi and Woods do their thing on Raw has been amazing. They have been holding Raw down, and o see them as the MVP’s of Raw. Either way it will be a historic night for ya boys.” Kayla thanks Big E for stopping by, and The Bump crew moves on to the next segment.

⁃ Ryan heads over to the “big board,” and it’s time for Ask The Bump.
⁃ When Ryan rejoins the rest of the crew, Kayla welcomes on the next guest.

Kayla dives right in, and she states “the obvious”, asking about the change in the attitude of Otis. The big man tells her “it’s all for the academy. There is a new attitude, and I take the tag team division seriously. This is about making a mark. Rey Mysterio was the first one, and now the Street Profits. We decided to take the opportunity to take them out, because this is about winning championships and making money.” Ryan follows up by asking about Otis’ “harshest critics,” and Otis responds to his doubters. Otis briefly watches a clip of himself injuring Montez Ford, and says “that makes me smile. When I step in the ring people are gonna get hurt. When it comes to everyone talking, at least they’re talking. I do this for the alpha academy.” Evan asks Otis if he is still friends with The Bump crew, and Otis tells him “if anyone has a problem with me I’ll smack them right in the mouth. But we’re all good.” Kayla asks another question, and she brings up Otis earlier point about winning titles and earning cash. Otis adds to the comments, and tells Kayla “we took the training to a higher intensity. I can only tell you so much about our future plans, but Chad Gable has shown me the light, in a way. If someone has to get hurt along the way, it’s just all a part of the business.” Matt rejoins the conversation, and he asks how WWE fans may react to his current form, when WWE returns to touring. Otis tells him “it will be interesting to see what they say, but it doesn’t matter. I was beloved, but it wasn’t getting me anywhere. I lost my girlfriend, I lost the briefcase… I was too nice. When it comes to the fans, they’ll just have to sit back and watch the carnage.” Kayla asks why Otis changed his appearance, and he explains “that’s how I looked in my amateur wrestling days. I kinda got sick of the beard. It was a last minute thing. I didn’t want people to see the old Otis, I want to see this clean shaven Otis, who is a maniac.” Kayla thanks Otis for his time, and it’s the next segment is on deck.

⁃ Matt shares an update on the next Icons episode, which is about Lex Luger.
⁃ After a quick promo package for the episode, Kayla brings in the final guest.

The Way

Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory join the host’s, and Kayla asks the first question. Kayla brings up last night, where The Way had an interaction with Karrion Kross. Gargano says “alot of stuff went down. I have his number now. Whether it’s a ring, or parking lot then I have his number. Tick tock.” Matt wonders what Theory has learned about Kross, and Austin says “he’s just a bad guy. I woke up on the concrete, and I didn’t even know where Papa John was.” Evan shows Gargano a clip of an exchange Johnny had with Kross, and Gargano responds to the video. Johnny tells the hosts “we live rent free in that mans head. There’s not much stuff in there ok, there’s alot of room in there.” Ryan compliments Johnny on his shirt, and kicks it over to Austin. Ryan asks about the “unfair advantage” Scarlett and Kross present, and Theory credits Scarlett’s nails, saying “they have all the power.” Gargano adds to the comments, and says “maybe they have supernatural abilities or something I don’t know. Austin do you have those? Can you shoot fire or something?” Evan asks about the return of Samoa Joe, and Gargano thanks him for the “save last night.” Johnny says “if Joe wants to be an honorary member of The Way, we can get him a headband. A big head band, he’s got a big noggin.” Kayla chimes in, and she asks about The Way’s upcoming NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships defense. Kayla wonders if Johnny and Austin are concerned, and Austin says “I’m pretty concerned the reign will come to an end. Did you see Io’s moonsault?” Gargano presses Theory for his comments, and Austin says “just kidding.” Kayla thanks Gargano and Theory for stopping by, as the final interview segment comes to an end.

⁃ The hosts close the show by sharing a few final thoughts on NXT, and plug tomorrow’s NXT UK, as the show fades to black.

That’s all for this episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by the recap, and have a great rest of your day everyone.
