WWE The Bump Full Recap: (4/11/21)

It’s Wrestlemania Sunday, and that means it’s time for a recap of a special edition of the WWE YouTube show, The Bump! Today’s show is full of guests, including Riddle, Big E RVD, Bianca Belair, and Randy Orton. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump!

⁃ Matt kicks off the special edition of The Bump from the WWE Warehouse, and excitement is in the air. They share their thoughts on night one of WrestleMania, until Kayla brings on the first guest, the United States Champion, Riddle.

Riddle

Kayla starts the discussion by asking Riddle about walking into Wrestlemania as a champion. Riddle says “if you asked me if I thought this would happen 5 years ago, I’d be like probably not”. Riddle talks about seeing Damian Priest out there last night, and adds that tonight “is the chance to live my childhood dream”. Evan wonders what past encounters with Sheamus have taught him, and Riddle tells him “when I get in the ring with him I’m hurting, I’m limping, I’m sore. Nobody’s gonna forget this match. I promise”. Ryan joins the conversation, and wants to know if the stage gets him excited. Riddle explains “win, lose, or draw I couldn’t be happier. It’s gonna be great to wrestle Sheamus out there. He’s just like me”. Matt recaps championship defenses over the past week, and asks if those hype Riddle up for his own defense. The Champion covers each competitor, and finally talks about himself, then suddenly says “I forgot what I was saying”. Kayla talks about Wrestlemania entrances, and asks for insight on Riddle’s. Riddle responds, and tells Kayla “you’ll be as shocked as I am. I am always the last one to know”. Evan looks ahead, and he wants to know what’s next for Riddle. The Champion says “my next goal is to win the tag team championship, I want to be a double champion. I’m gonna mention it to R-Truth”. Ryan rejoins the conversation, and talks about the mentality Riddle has. Riddle interrupts, and talks about being “goofy”. Riddle says Vince McMahon told him “you don’t want to be a goof”, and Riddle replied “I’m a very yin yang character”. Matt chimes back in, and RVD walks into the picture with Riddle. The conversation sounds alot like “bro, dude” at first, and Riddle calls RVD a “bro man”. Riddle shares a story from the playboy mansion, which is where he once bumped into RVD, and Rob says “yeah, I’m kinda chill”. They both ramble back and fourth, until Riddle leaves, and Van Dam stays.

Rob Van Dam

Van Dam tells everyone to let him know if he needs to settle down a bit, and he’s definitely joking. Kayla asks for Van Dam’s opinion on Riddle, and he says “we will celebrate his big win later on”. Evan asks his first question, and wonders when RVD made the HOF a goal. Van Dam says it was never a goal “but knowing they think of me in that way is an honor. It used to be flattering to think about, but now it’s a super honor to have happen”. Ryan reminds Rob that he’s undefeated at Wrestlemania, and Van Dam tells him about each match he competed in. Van Dam recaps them all, and adds “it’s not something that goes unappreciated around Michigan”. Matt asks about Van Dam’s recent WWE Network documentary, and Rob explains “that was so fun. It’s really gonna be good, and I’m really looking forward to seeing it”. Kayla takes a trip down memory lane with Van Dam, and takes him back to ECW One Night Stand. Van Dam says “nothing can compare to that crossroads of energy”, and explains how the fans were so wild that night. RVD continues on the subject, and adds “it was a personal connection with all of us. They wanted to see Cena and what he stood for go down that night. It was a victory for everyone”. Matt hips back into the conversation, and tells RVD that he “jumped off the page in his rivalry with Jerry Lynn”. RVD talks about clicking so well with Jerry, and Van Dam says “it was just instant chemistry. Our first match was more of an enhancement match, but I liked his athleticism, and we brought the best out of each other”. Ryan wants to know how Van Dam came up with the Van-Terminator, and Rob explains “it was a natural progression. I started brainstorming, and I had no idea the move would win me so many titles. It was one of my favorite moves to do”.

⁃ Kayla thanks Van Dam for taking the time to stop by, and brings on another guest.

Bianca Belair

Bianca joins the show from a moving car, and she starts by telling the crew “I’m so happy. This belt looks good on me”. Kayla follows up, and wonders why Bianca began to cry before the match. Bianca says “we could hear the crowd cheering for us, and we soaked it in. The moment was more than about us, and we had to realize that we are in the main event”. Matt joins the discussion, and asks how it’s been to rise through the ranks so fast. Bianca explains that she’s currently going to help her parents, who are stuck on the side of the road before saying “it all makes sense now, because I have this(the title)”. Evan wonders how it was to “cement your legacy last night”, and Bianca talks about watching Sasha’s whole career. Bianca adds “there was no one else for me to prove myself against. I wanted to go against the best”. Ryan asks a question of his own, and recaps the story between Bianca and Sasha. Bianca answers, and shares how the story played out from her perspective. Bianca continues, and says “it all paid off. It is what it is”. Kayla takes Bianca back to her debut, and says she really found herself on Smackdown. Bianca explains how she learned more about herself, and says “it all comes and goes, but what’s important is your connection with people. I’ve also learned about patience, and being able to clap for other people”. Matt reminds Bianca that her signing anniversary is Monday. Bianca says “this week played out so perfect. I had a birthday Wednesday, Championship won last night, and my 5 year anniversary is Monday. I feel like I’ve earned it over these 5 years. It all lead to this, everything makes sense now”. Ryan asks Bianca to look back on it all now that it’s over, and Bianca says “this is an amazing feeling. We do what we do to put a smile on fans faces. It warms my heart to when the fans feel like they are a part of it, and they are a huge part of why we were in the main event. We can’t do this without them”. Kayla wants to know how special it was to see the fans, and Bianca tells her “it felt like I victory lap. I feel like everyone geared up when they saw the crowd for the first time”. Kayla thanks Bianca for stopping by The Bump, and the segment comes to a close.

⁃ After the new Smackdown Women’s Champion leaves the show, The Bump crew jumps into a few match previews.
⁃ The preview segment wraps up, and Kayla brings on the next guest, Big E.

Big E

E joins the show, and he’s looking confident. Kayla begins the discussion by asking how Big E is feeling, and if this match is personal. E explains “tonight is about violence. I’m gonna show people a side of me they aren’t used to”. Matt wonders what it means for the new day to be represented in two matches, and Big E tells him “all three of us could hold singles titles. We are branching out. This is the first step in showing we have more to show than what you’ve seen”. Ryan asks E about seeing fans last night, and Big E explains “you forget the buzz people give you. To feel that passion for what we do… it’s special. Nothing depends so much on its fans as what we do”. Ryan follows up, and wonders how exciting it is to be in a title match with a unique stipulation. Big E tells him “this will be one of the most violent matches at WrestleMania. Just winking is not enough, I’m trying to prove a point. I hope he has insurance, and a backup plan”. Kayla chimes back in, and says she is fan of Big E. Kayla wonders if E ever thought this would happen, and Big E says “this was destiny. Y’all can sleep on me if you want, but this should have happened years ago. I’ve been ready”. Matt reminds Big E that Tampa is home for him, and wonders how significant that is. E responds, and tells him “it’s the definition of full circle for me. Being at home is the cherry on top of everything”. Ryan asks for final words going into the match, and Big E tells him “I’m not worried about Apollo. Just bring me your very best. I’ve been here before, you got nerves. I hope you’re ready, I’m trying to swing through you”.

⁃ Kayla thanks Big for stopping by, and the crew moves into their predictions.
⁃ Once the predictions wrap up, Kayla welcomes on the final guest, Randy Orton.

Randy Orton

Kayla announces that Orton and The Fiend will kickoff night two, and he explains “I just can’t get on The Bump, but now I’m here”. Kayla reminds Orton that tonight is his 17th Wrestlemania, and wonders where Randy’s head is at. Orton goes over how his day has been, and that he’s worried there will be another weather delay tonight. Orton adds to that, and says “ it’ll be interesting and fun, it’s outside the norm”. Orton talks about his match, and explains “I’ll have a different mindset tonight. I don’t know what to expect”. Ryan talks about the “saga” between Orton and The Fiend, and he wants to know if Randy enjoys the long story. Orton tells him “I love the storytelling part of what we do. The longer we have to do a story, the better”. Matt recaps how The Fiend has grown over the last year, and wonders how Orton can prepare for him. Randy tells him “sh*ts gonna get crazy tonight, I mean I set that man on fire”. Matt follows up, and he’s interested in knowing about the level of control Orton feels. Orton explains “I don’t know what to expect, and from a fans standpoint that’s great. That’s huge. It’s a 180 from my last Mania match with Bray”. Evan joins the discussion, and asks about his level of respect from Alexa Bliss. Randy tells Evan “I hope she’s no where to be seen tonight. Not knowing what to expect isn’t a good place to be in when so much is expected of me. I have no respect for the lady”. Kayla wonders how “pumped” Orton is for the return of the WWE Universe, and he explains “it’s so hard to do what we do without them”. Ryan talks mind games, and asks Orton if The Fiend’s ability to go “tit for tat” is fun. Randy responds, and tells Ryan “yeah, it’s another obstacle for me to overcome. I love the challenge, it just means I have to up my game, and it’ll make for an interesting time with The Fiend”. Evan hops into the conversation, and als for Orton’s final words before the match. Randy says “I don’t have nothing to say to him”. Orton then sends a message to celebrities, and says “seeing Bad Bunny come into our world has impressed me. Thank you for having respect for what I do. I appreciate him as a fan, but now i can call him a performer in my world”. Orton finishes by saying “I appreciate Bad Bunny, and he knocked everyone in the locker rooms socks off. He’s officially a WWE Superstar in my book”.

⁃ “The Viper” moves on, and the crew gives their final predictions, before the show fades to black.
