WWE Confirms Return to Saudi Arabia Later This Year

Last night’s WWE SummerSlam Event saw a video promo being aired, where it was announced and confirmed that WWE will be making their return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their 2021 Crown Jewel PPV in October. It was mentioned that the WWE is set to make history in their return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this October and that the event will be held in the Kingdom’s capital of Riyadh.

As of this writing, no actual date was given as to when the Crown Jewel PPV will be taking place, but it was previously reported that the show is scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 21, but that has yet to be confirmed.

No matches or Superstars have been announced for Crown Jewel as of this writing, but it was mentioned in the past that the WWE will be holding the King of the Ring tournament finals and the finals of the inaugural Queen of the Ring tournament, though the WWE has not officially announced those tournaments as of yet. The belief is that the tournaments will begin on the October 8th SmackDown and the October 11th RAW, but those dates have also not been confirmed yet.

WWE last held an event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in February of 2020 and that was the 2020 Super ShowDown PPV Event, which took place inside the Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh. The WWE has so far had 5 events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and those shows are the Greatest Royal Rumble and Crown Jewel Events in 2018, the Super ShowDown and Crown Jewel Events in 2019 as well as the Super ShowDown Event in 2020.
