WWE & Top Star Involved In Ongoing Contract Dispute; Creative Plans On Hold

— Yesterday, it was reported that WWE had halted all creative ideas to bring back Alexa Bliss and while it wasn’t entirely clear what the reason was for the stop, speculation was that it had to with a contractual issue. Bliss was originally expected back at the recent Raw show in San Jose, CA but those plans were completely scrapped. At the time, the plan was for Bliss to “secretly” come to the January 13 show, return and be featured on Raw moving forward.

— PWInsiderelite.com is reporting today that the “rift” between WWE and Bliss is indeed related to that – specifically that Bliss, while under a WWE contract, is looking for a new deal while the company expects her to honor her existing agreement and to return under those terms. At some point before the San Jose Raw, representatives for Bliss contacted WWE and told the company that she was looking to open discussions on a new contract prior to returning.

— It should go without saying that Bliss is seeking a new contract that would supersede her old agreement and deliver a higher rate of pay and most likely, additional perks. The pwinsider report added that Bliss’ side “dug in” about wanting the new deal and WWE turned around and played hard-ball, yanking plans for her return while freezing future storylines indefinitely. The two sides “remain at odds” ever since and Bliss has apparently removed all references to “WWE” in her social media bios. As noted yesterday, Bliss’ return was believed to be related to the Wyatt Sicks stable but the group was moved to Smackdown and all future creative for them has nothing to do with Bliss.

— Bliss hasn’t wrestled for WWE in about two years, last appearing at the 2023 Royal Rumble. Since then, she has given birth to a daughter, battled multiple health issues but recently went on record to proclaim that she is back fully healthy and ready to return implying that the delay was related to creative.
