WWE Friday Night SmackDown LIVE Results – (10/30/20)

Show Opening

WWE Forever plays us in to the new SmackDown intro music as WWE Friday Night SmackDown heads into the ThunderDome for tonight’s show!

Immediately we hear Roman Reigns entrance theme sounds as The Big Dog makes his way out with Paul Heyman close behind as the both make their way down the ramp towards the ring. Commentary notes that Reigns dominated at Hell in a Cell and retained his seat at the head of the table and the Universal Championship Title. Jey Uso is already standing inside the ring as Roman stops at the bottom of the ramp to look at his cousin Jey and we get sent into a video clip from this past weekend’s HITC pay-per-view.

Roman Reigns is heard saying at one point in the match, “I said say ‘I Quit’!! I swear I will take your last breath!” as he continues to choke the life out of his cousin, Jey Uso. The referee says he’s got to call it, Reigns grabs the referee and removes him from the ring. Roman lifts a set of steel stairs over his head and is ready to crush Jey when suddenly Jey’s twin brother Jimmy enters the ring after all the back up referees that ran into the ring cannot calm The Big Dog. “Whatchu doin’ Big Dog? We are family, we can fix this! No more Usse. I love you Usse.” Roman seems to agree, and leans in for a hug with his cousin when he suddenly grabs Jimmy and begins to choke him out. To save his brother, Jey announced, “I QUIT!”

We return to the ring and Paul Heyman attempts to speak, “I’m so hap…” Jey snatches the mic out of Heyman’s hand and through tears states, “You did NOT beat ME! You know me Usse. It’s too much Usse, you ain’t that type of person, you understand me??” Roman responds, “You can make all the excuses you want, you can feel any way you want. What did I say? I told you I was gonna make you quit. And what did I do? I made you quit.” Jey responds, “That’s a SNAKE move. Just like when we were kids. Always one upping me. I cannot get down with you. I do not respect you. This title got you trippin’ Usse.”

The champ says he told Jey he’d make him quit, and he did. Now he has to take the oath. And of course he used Jimmy – that’s what you have to do to carry the title and be the Chief. Uso saw the elders come out and proclaim him the head of the family, everyone from the oldest to the youngest recognize him as their leader. They are all behind Reigns, they ALL back Reigns. Jey has to do the same or he’s out. Reigns says he’d be angry too, he’d be livid… but let’s be honest, what can you do? “What are you gonna do?” Reigns says.

Uso screams that he hates his cousin, and Reigns says “of course you do, but I love you.” He also assures him that by the end of the night, he’ll fall in line. Roman leaves the ring with a smile, Jey still in tears inside the ring!

Quick Announcement

Cole & Corey Graves tell us Uso faces Daniel Bryan later tonight for a spot on the blue brand’s Survivor Series team. We’ll also get Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler, and that match is… to be announced when we return from the commercial break.

Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler

The Show-Off is out with “the Glorious Robert Roode,” and Cole reminds us Survivor Series is “the one night a year” etc. etc. The referee signals for the bell as both competitors are ready to kick things off. The bell rings, and the first match of the evening is officially underway!

Things start off with an early lock-up, Zigs rolls out and Roode pays immediate dividends when KO follows. Dolph works him over until Owens lands a big elbow, but that advantage doesn’t last long. Ziggler with a kick to Owens’ knee, and when he rolls out, Dolph feigns injury himself to draw the referee’s attention. Roode attacks him, but the ref sees and throws Bob out as we go to commercial.

Back live and Ziggler drops Owens for a two-count, but KO fires back with a headbutt. Ziggler hits the ropes and kicks Owens, who then clobber Ziggler with a lariat. Dolph ducks a lariat but jumps into Owens’ arms for a swinging backbreaker and a near-fall. Owens goes up top and leaps for a swanton bomb but Dolph gets his knees up for a two-count.

Ziggler stomps up the band but runs into a superkick from Owens. KO looks for the pop-up powerbomb but Ziggler counters with a Fame-Asser in mid-air. Owens hits a sunset flip but Ziggler counters with a roll-up. They trade back and forth until Owens catches a kick, spins him around, and hits a Stunner for the win!

Winner: Kevin Owens

After the Match

He tells Cole that SmackDown will become the KO Show at Survivor Series before limping up the ramp.

After the Break Announcement

That wins mean Kevin Owens qualifies for the SmackDown Survivor Series team. The other qualifying match tonight will be Daniel Bryan Vs. Jey Uso. Once again, we head to commercial break!

Progressive “Clip of the Week”

Progressive gives us a Daniel Bryan career retrospective before more ads.

Backstage – Natalya

Natalya is lobbying five-time NWA Worlds champ Adam Pearce for captainship of the Survivor Series team when Billie Kay interrupts with her head shot and resume (she excels in a team environment). Bianca Belair is here to say that The EST should be on the team because she’s the Strongest, Smartest, etc. She also informs Nattie that calling herself “The BOAT” isn’t as cute as she thinks it is.

Pearce makes a Triple Threat for a spot on the team.

Corey Graves Interviews Lars Sullivan

Corey Graves sits down to talk to Lars Sullivan. He puts over the guys Sullivan has beaten, and asks if he can call him Lars. Lars asks if Corey doesn’t want to call him “The Freak”. Graves explains he only calls him that because he do freakish things no one else can. Sullivan accepts that and tells a story about the first time he was called “The Freak” in grade school, and how he cried. In response, the kids laughed. But in about 20 minutes, the laughing stopped and the screaming started, and he wasn’t allowed back at school after that.

Asked what his goal in WWE is, he says it’s to destroy anyone who gets in his way. He wants to turn WWE into his own personal hell. On that cringe-worthy/disturbing moment, we go to break.

Backstage – Aliyah and Murphy

Aliyah and Murphy backstage talking, her mom supports her, but dad and Dominik won’t even talk to her about Buddy. He understands why they hate him, which is why he’s going to go out and publicly apologize tonight. She asks if he’s sure, and they takes his hand to end the scene.

Bianca Belair with a Basement Dropkick, followed by a Moonsault for a two count! Bianca with an Elbow to Natalya in the corner of the ring. Natalya with a Basement Dropkick of her own knocking Bianca to the canvas. Natalya locks in the Sharpshooter, when suddenly Billie Kay comes in! Billie with a submission locked in too! Natalya lets go, breaking ther Sharpshooter and grabs Billie Kay off of Bianca Belair. Billie goes for the cover on Bianca for the two. Billie heads over to Natalya who kicks out at two as well. Billie is screaming at the official now.

Natalya looks to lock in a Sharpshooter on Billie as Natalya shouts, “tap! tap! tap!” Billie hangs in though she screams bloody murder. Bianca returns and runs Natalya into the turnbuckle. Bianca hits the Kiss of Death for the three count pin and win!! Bianca is going to Survivor Series!

Winner: Bianca Belair!

After the Match

Bianca Belair gets to her feet and begins twirling her braid and covers her smile as she is super excited and can’t contain her huge smile.

Backstage – Carmella

We head backstage where we see Carmella sitting in a red dress with just champagne and a camera. “There’s a difference between who the world wants you to be, and who you are. So who am I? I’m that woman.

She’s the one who calls the shots, who’s willing to do anything to get ahead. Next week, she’ll show the world why she’s U N T O U C H A B L E.

In-Ring

Aalyah & Murphy walk down the ramp arm-in-arm as we go to commercial.

Jey Uso joins Kevin Owens on the SmackDown Survivor Series Team. Roman Reigns is now standing the ring with his head held high. “I’m witchu. You’re the head of the table. You the head of the table.
