WWE had some interesting plans lined up for “The Man” before Becky Lynch announced on Monday Night RAW this week that she is pregnant, and that she and Seth Rollins are expecting their first child together in December.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the timing of WrestleMania, Becky Lynch’s pregnancy and Money in the Bank was revealed.
Lynch’s match against Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania was taped either 3/25 or 3/26 and based on the fact that her baby is due in December, it’s almost a lock that she was already pregnant by then but nobody, including Lynch herself, knew.
The plan following WrestleMania was for a program to build towards a Lynch-Baszler rematch that would have taken place sometime down the road, perhaps even as late as SummerSlam.
Baszler was originally booked to win the Money in the Bank match (securing her future title shot) while a returning Nia Jax was scheduled to take on Lynch for the Raw women’s title at Money in the Bank where the title would not have changed hands.
Sometime before Money in the Bank was taped on 4/15, Lynch found out she was pregnant and informed WWE officials and so all plans were scrapped and both Baszler and Jax were put into the ladder match instead while Becky was kept off the card completely, which seemed weird since the PPV appeared to lack a lot of star power and her absence made it worse.
