Wendi Richter appeared to be AEW-bound but it doesn’t appear as if those plans are in the cards anymore.
“Timeless” Toni Storm has made references to the old-school women’s wrestler from WWE’s past at AEW press conferences, and at one point, there was consideration within the company about bringing her in for an appearance.
It is now believed to be a moot point as sources have noted that Richter is actually under a WWE Legends contract, which would mean she wouldn’t be allowed to appear for any other promotion unless it is cleared by WWE.
Other wrestlers such as Rob Van Dam are also under WWE Legends deals and had to get permission to work for AEW. For what it’s worth, Richter had noted that she would make an appearance for the right amount of money.
