— WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan appeared at last night’s Monday Night Raw, cutting a short promo where he hyped up WWE’s debut on Netflix while also speaking on the company’s partnership with his Real American brand of beer. Unfortunately for him, Hogan was greeted by an overwhelming negative reaction with the live audience booing him throughout the disaster of a segment.
— Hogan tried to turn things around by putting over the fans, suggesting that they have been his greatest tag team partner by sticking with him all these years but the capacity crowd didn’t care and continued to boo him relentlessly. The reaction to Hogan was so bad that multiple mainstream outlets including Variety and Deadline.com turned it into a story.
— Hogan’s popularity has suffered in recent years and went completely downhill when a 2007 tape was made public in 2015 that caught him using racial slurs causing WWE to cut ties with him including a temporary removal from the Hall of Fame. Hogan’s popularity further waned after he began endorsing Donald Trump for President last year so the negative reaction in a city in California wasn’t entirely shocking.
Watching Hulk Hogan get booed out of a building filled with 18k people restored my faith in humanity 😭 #WWERAW #RawOnNetflix pic.twitter.com/f8qBP7uILt
