WWE Hall of Famer Sean Waltman is battling diverticulitis.
The man formerly known as X-Pac appeared on Denise Salcedo’s Instinct Culture program, where he revealed the news and detailed how it has already taken a toll on his weight.
“Last year, I was in the hospital for almost a week,” he shared. “It was touch-and-go for a while, and I lost a ton of weight. After that, I decided it was time to get serious. I started pushing myself to train harder, to get off my butt and take better care of myself.”
When asked how he’s doing now, Waltman was optimistic, though he acknowledged the road to recovery wasn’t easy. “I’m feeling great now. The recovery was tough—took a while to get back to normal—but I’m in a much better place. It came back a little, but I caught it early, went straight to the hospital, and took care of it.”
Waltman also spoke about Kenny Omega, who had his own battle with diverticulitis. The two were in touch during Waltman’s hospitalization, with Omega offering support and advice.
“I was texting with Kenny while I was in the hospital,” Waltman said. “He’d been through it, so he knew what to expect and helped me through it. That kind of support meant a lot.”
Despite the health challenges, Waltman does end the interview by saying he’s feeling much better. He was in attendance for WWE’s Netflix premiere on January 6th, 2025.
