Monday, Monday

Welcome, Rajahmaniacs! To borrow from Matt Boone, it’s Monday–you know what that means! WWE Monday Night Raw comes to us LIVE tonight from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, with all the action kicking off at 8pm EST on Netflix! The Money in the Bank qualifying action continues tonight with two Triple Threat Matches, as Dragon Lee, Solo Sikoa and Dominik Mysterio battle for a spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, while IYO SKY, Roxanne Perez and AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina collide for a place in the women’s field. Also tonight, Bayley returns to in-ring action against Lyra Valkyria, Penta will address the WWE Universe following his World Heavyweight Championship battle with Roman Reigns last week in Mexico City, and LA Knight will have something to say about his post-Raw attack on Reigns and their upcoming World Heavyweight Championship showdown at Money in the Bank. We’ll have all that and more tonight when Raw gets underway at 8pm EST! Check back then for live results and updates throughout the night, courtesy of The Results General!

You got the touch! You got the powerrrrrr!

Welcome to Monday Night Raw!

We open with sweeping shots of the Frost Bank Center as Joe Tessitore welcomes us to Monday Night Raw alongside Wade Barrett, running down tonight’s announced card as we catch glimpses of Solo Sikoa, Bayley and IYO SKY at various locations throughout the arena.

We then roll a video package recapping last week’s Raw in Mexico City, focusing on the main event battle between World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Penta. The two tore the house down in a hard-fought, PLE-quality main event before Reigns ultimately emerged victorious. If you missed that one, do yourself a favor and check it out on Netflix. From there, we revisit the post-show confrontation between Reigns and LA Knight, which ended with Knight laying out the champion mid-speech with a BFT. An irate Reigns responded directly into the camera, telling Knight that if he wants it, then his “bitch ass” can get it at Money in the Bank.

We cut backstage, where LA Knight is shown as Penta arrives at the arena, setting the stage for our opening segment…

In the Ring: Penta Addresses the WWE Universe

Penta makes his way to the ring and soaks up a warm Texas reception before grabbing a microphone. “Last week in Mexico City was one of the biggest nights of my life,” Penta begins. He continues in Spanish, seemingly reflecting on competing in front of his friends and family, Mexico City and the entire world in one hell of a match. That’s the gist we’re getting, at least. Sorry, folks, they couldn’t afford the bilingual Results General tonight, so you get what you get! Switching back to English, Penta admits Roman Reigns was the better man last week before addressing the World Heavyweight Champion directly. Penta wants another opportunity and another shot at the title.

Penta continues in Spanish until Dominik Mysterio interrupts at 8:10pm, accompanied by JD McDonagh. Dom tries to speak, but the San Antonio faithful do an admirable job of drowning him out. He eventually tells Penta that nobody cares about his hopes or dreams. “The people wanna hear from somebody that stood tall in Mexico, like the Judgment Day!” Dom boasts that Judgment Day left “deadbeat” Rey Mysterio, El Grande Americano and Stephanie Vaquer laid out last week. McDonagh takes the mic and tells Penta that he already had his opportunity and lost, so he should take his ass to the back of the line.

Dom demands that Penta put some respect on the name Dominik Mysterio, “because you’re just a luchador, and I’m the king of the luchadores!” Penta responds in Spanish before making one particular sentiment crystal clear in English: Dom is an asshole. He continues before declaring that there’s only one king of the luchadores — Dom’s father, Rey Mysterio! That does it, and Dom and McDonagh immediately jump Penta, stomping him down before sending him to the floor and clearing off the commentary table. McDonagh looks to powerbomb Penta through the table, but Penta breaks free and fights off both members of Judgment Day, taking the battle back inside before wiping them both out with a crossbody from the top rope. Judgment Day retreats up the ramp while Penta stands tall and owns the ring.

Backstage: The Usos & Jacob Fatu, Guest Starring Solo Sikoa

Backstage, The Usos enthusiastically try to fire up Jacob Fatu, telling him tonight’s the night, but Fatu isn’t buying what they’re selling. An irritated Fatu snaps that he’s tired of hearing the same old song and insists they need to play this slowly. The wrong move, according to Fatu, would be making the first move against 946.

Solo Sikoa suddenly walks into the conversation waving a white flag, which he promptly uses to annoy Jey by poking it in his face. Solo reminds them that the white flag means they can’t hit him before proposing that they work together to take out 946. The Usos wonder aloud if their little brother wants back on the team, telling Solo all he has to do is acknowledge The Usos as his captains — and acknowledge the Tribal Chief. Solo makes it clear that isn’t happening, prompting The Usos to send him packing. “Back to the drawing board,” Solo says before walking away. The Usos begin to gloat over the exchange, but Fatu isn’t amused, snapping that they just made the wrong decision.

Women’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat Match: AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina vs. IYO SKY vs. Roxanne Perez

IYO SKY begins to make her entrance at 8:17pm, sending us to break! We return from break as Roxanne Perez is finishing her entrance ahead of AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina. The opening bell sounds at 8:22pm! Perez wastes no time stirring the pot, slapping La Catalina across the face before turning around and doing the same to SKY. Perez offers the pair a playful bow before wisely fleeing the ring, but La Catalina and SKY quickly form a temporary alliance and spend the next few moments chasing Perez in and out of the squared circle. They finally get their hands on her and spend a little time whooping her ass before a beautiful tandem double-dropkick sends Perez rolling to the outside.

La Catalina and SKY give each other props before turning their attention to one another, engaging in an exciting, lightning-fast sequence that allows both women to showcase their athleticism and gets the San Antonio crowd firmly involved. Perez eventually reenters the fray and chaos ensues, with La Catalina showing off her purportedly legendary dropkick game as she takes it to Perez. The AAA Reina de Reinas Champion eventually heads upstairs and wipes out both Perez and SKY on the floor with a dive from the top rope! All three women are down on the outside as we head to a break at 8:27pm.

We return from break as Perez sets up and executes a double DDT on La Catalina and SKY, covering each woman in succession but finding no joy on either account. An increasingly frustrated Perez sends La Catalina into the ring post before turning her attention to SKY in the opposite corner. SKY cuts her off with a Suplex and begins to fire herself up, looking for the Bullet Train Meteora, but Perez moves out of the way and attacks from behind. La Catalina comes soaring in from across the ring to wipe out Perez with an aerial strike before connecting with the Perro Attack on SKY and then Perez! La Catalina covers Perez, but Roxanne escapes.

SKY looks for a huge uppercut on Perez, but Roxanne ducks out of the way and SKY clocks La Catalina instead, leaving the champion down. Perez capitalizes with a springboard attack on La Catalina, only for SKY to take Perez out and connect with a standing Stomp. SKY covers Perez, but La Catalina dives in to make the save. La Catalina and SKY begin trading offense as the pace picks up, with SKY eventually countering a submission attempt into a backbreaker. Before SKY can capitalize with Over the Moonsault, Perez attacks her from behind and quickly covers the still-downed La Catalina, but the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion kicks out!

La Catalina climbs the turnbuckles and looks to capitalize on SKY, who is also perched up high, but Perez joins both women and sends them crashing to the canvas with a pair of Hurricanranas! La Catalina pops back up and blasts Perez with a rising knee strike, leaving all three women down. After a few moments, they rise and begin slugging it out three-way style. La Catalina and Perez trade offense before La Catalina connects with a Gory Special, but she can’t put Perez away. SKY reenters the fray with a double Missile Dropkick that wipes out both opponents, fires up the San Antonio crowd and follows with a Bullet Train Meteora to La Catalina and Perez!

More chaos ensues in the closing moments, and Perez finds her opening, catching SKY with Pop Rox and stealing the victory at 8:36pm! A bit chaotic, but a solid opening contest!

Your Winner and Advancing to the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, Roxanne Perez! (14 minutes)

Backstage: Solo Sikoa & LA Knight

Solo Sikoa is shown backstage taping up his wrist when LA Knight walks into frame and asks what they’re going to do. Knight tells Sikoa to lay low before doing what Knight does best — talking his way around the block and eventually arriving at the point. He wants Sikoa to win Money in the Bank; he just doesn’t want Solo cashing in on him after Knight beats Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship in three weeks. With that bit of future planning out of the way, we head to break!

In the Ring: LA Knight (YEAH!)

At 8:42pm, LA Knight makes his way down the ramp to a solid reaction from the San Antonio crowd. Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett hype Knight’s upcoming World Heavyweight Championship showdown against Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank, now just three weeks away. Knight addresses Reigns through the camera, reminding him that it’s been three years since Reigns and The Bloodline screwed LA Knight out of his title opportunity and claiming they’ve spent the years since trying to keep him down and screw him over. Like it or not, Knight declares, “I am the plans.” Knight then takes aim at Reigns’ constant need for acknowledgment, blaming it on bad parenting. That one falls a little flat with the San Antonio crowd.

Looking to get them back into it, Knight gives credit where it’s due and says Reigns and Penta put on one hell of a match last week — and Roman won it on his own. Knight says he’ll even acknowledge Reigns’ greatness, drawing a mixture of boos and cheers. He acknowledges that Reigns may be the greatest champion of this generation, if not one of the greatest of all time. Knight says the WWE Universe has been demanding that he receive a title shot, but he understands why they don’t believe it’s actually going to happen — and he doesn’t blame them. Knight continues hyping Reigns, admitting that he doesn’t know if anyone can beat Roman, including himself. That draws more boos, though the crowd only seems about halfway into this one.

Knight admits that thought was a hard pill to swallow. He reflects on Reigns’ recent victories without The Bloodline and says Roman is trying to “rewrite his legacy as a dominant champion who can do it on his own.” There’s just one problem: according to Knight, Roman Reigns has never been man enough to beat him one-on-one. Knight commends Reigns for agreeing to face him without The Bloodline before reminding everyone that Knight has never needed anybody else to get where he is. Please, somebody let Paul Heyman advocate for this man. Knight vows that he’ll win at Money in the Bank all by himself and says that when it’s all over, he’ll acknowledge Roman acknowledging him as the new World Heavyweight Champion. And with that, our segment mercifully comes to an end.

Backstage: Byron Saxton with Je’Von Evans

Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Je’Von Evans and points out that Evans will become the youngest competitor ever to participate in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The Vision walks up, with Logan Paul yapping away at Evans as tensions quickly begin to rise. Breakker finally holds up a hand and congratulates Evans on qualifying before putting him on notice: Money in the Bank belongs to Breakker, and it’s no longer Evans’ concern.

Evans notices that both men just happen to be wearing their gear and suggests they find out who’s really like that right now. Evans looks around at The Vision and starts doing the math. “I get it, I’m outnumbered. There’s one of me…” He counts off the five members of The Vision — and then promptly slaps Breakker across the face! Evans takes off running up the tunnel toward the entrance ramp, yelling for someone to hit his music. The Vision starts to give chase, but Breakker stops them, saying it’s time they start using their heads.

Singles Match: Je’Von Evans vs. Bron Breakker w/ The Vision

Evans makes his way out to the ring as commentary scrambles to find out whether this impromptu challenge is actually official. We’re heading to break — and apparently, we’ll find out next! We return from break to find Breakker finishing his entrance. The opening bell sounds at 8:56pm. Breakker immediately takes control, using his power advantage to dominate Evans in the opening moments. The action quickly spills to the outside, where Breakker deliberately slows the pace and punishes the youngster, sending Evans hard into the barricade before taking a moment to taunt him. Breakker continues working Evans over at ringside, manhandling him while jawing at his younger opponent, before finally sending the action back inside.

As Breakker attempts to reenter the ring, Evans catches him with a Superkick that knocks Bron off the apron! Evans immediately follows with a Suicide Dive, wiping Breakker out at ringside and finally shifting the momentum. Evans fires up and unloads with chops and slaps across Breakker’s chest and face as he battles the powerhouse around ringside. Evans slams Breakker’s head into the apron before pursuing him back into the ring, with the youngster suddenly bringing the fight directly to The Vision’s heavy hitter. Breakker briefly regains control, but Evans quickly wrestles the momentum back and, in one big spot, smacks the hell out of Bron with a slap so hard that Breakker rolls out of the ring to regain his composure. Evans steps onto the apron and begins stalking Breakker around ringside near the commentary table, eventually catching up with him and slamming Breakker’s head into the desk.

Evans makes the mistake of turning his back on Breakker to jaw at the rest of The Vision, allowing Austin Theory to approach and yell at Evans off-mic in an effort to distract him. Breakker sees his opening and charges Evans head-on with a Spear attempt, but Evans simply sidesteps him — sending Breakker crashing straight through the barricade! Evans fires up the crowd and trots around the ring before charging full-speed toward Breakker, launching himself over the barricade with a diving splash that wipes out the rising Breakker! Evans is rolling as we head to break at 9pm sharp.

Evans loses control during the break, allowing Breakker to settle into a lengthy stretch of dominance. Breakker uses his words almost as much as his working holds, repeatedly taunting The Young OG while trying to ground and control him. Evans finally fires up and connects with several Clotheslines, but Breakker simply shrugs them off. That sparks a lightning-fast exchange that sees Evans unload with a flurry of kicks and strikes targeting Breakker’s head before springboarding into a splash that wipes the powerhouse out!

Evans perches himself in the corner and looks for another aerial attack, but Breakker catches him in a Military Press and looks to send him crashing to the canvas the hard way. Evans counters at the last possible second, however, turning it into a DDT! Evans pops back up and connects with the OG Cutter, but Breakker kicks out at the last possible moment, leaving Evans shaking his head in disbelief.

Breakker rolls to the outside to catch his breath as Maxxine Dupri tries to encourage him. Evans fires up the crowd and looks to launch himself through the ropes, but Dupri climbs onto the apron and stops him in his tracks. The referee gets between the two and begins ordering Dupri down, allowing Bronson Reed and Austin Theory to climb onto the opposite side of the ring. Evans chases Reed away, but Theory catches him with a right hand! Breakker immediately capitalizes with a Spinning Side Slam and covers The Young OG, but Evans kicks out just in the nick of time — and Breakker looks pissed.

Reed nods toward Breakker and gestures for him to break The Young OG. Breakker pulls down the straps, heads to the corner and locks onto his target. Breakker explodes forward looking for the Spear, but Evans dodges at the last possible second, sending Breakker diving shoulder-first into the ring post! Breakker spills to the outside, where Theory decides to take another shot at Evans. Evans clocks Theory, then dives to the outside and wipes out Reed for good measure! Evans reenters the ring, sprints across the canvas and launches himself over the top rope to wipe out Breakker in a beautiful display of athleticism as Logan Paul looks on in shock.

Evans quickly gets Breakker back inside and catches him perfectly with the Red Dot. Evans heads back to the corner looking to finish this thing, but with the referee distracted, Theory climbs onto the apron and blasts Evans with a Clothesline! The referee catches the interference and immediately calls for the bell at 9:09pm!

Your Winner via Disqualification, Je’Von Evans! (13 minutes)

After the Match: A Beatdown and a Savior

The bell does nothing to stop The Vision. Breakker and Theory immediately begin a brutal beatdown of Evans as Logan Paul shouts encouragement from ringside. Theory holds Evans up and restrains him as Breakker promises that he’s going to break The Young OG — but suddenly, the lights go out! Oba Femi is here! Femi storms the ring and immediately begins destroying The Vision! The Ruler blasts Breakker and Theory with repeated corner-to-corner Running European Uppercuts before Reed tries to make the save, only for Femi to take him out as well. Femi grabs a steel chair and begins unloading on Theory and Breakker! Reed eventually gets his hands on the chair, but before he can use it, Femi catches the big man with a flying European Uppercut — and then another! Femi retrieves the chair and cracks Reed with it, standing tall as The Vision retreats and attempts to regroup on the ramp.

Femi notices Evans getting back to his feet, and The Young OG has one more flight scheduled for San Antonio! Evans streaks across the ring and launches himself over the top rope toward The Vision — with Femi providing a little extra propulsion by physically launching Evans into the pile! The Vision goes down in a heap as San Antonio erupts for Femi and Evans, who stand tall after turning The Vision’s post-match beatdown completely on its head.

Vignette: 946

We see 946 — Royce Keys, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price — sitting together in a car. They deliver a short and ominous message, saying The Bloodline crossed a line. No elaboration, no explanation — and that’s that.

Earlier Today: Joe Hendry on Social Media

We get footage from Joe Hendry’s Instagram, where he’s leading the crowd in a singalong declaring that “JD McDonagh is a Funko Pop.” Okay.

In the Ring: JD McDonagh & The Judgment Day

JD McDonagh leads The Judgment Day to the ring as commentary reminds us that Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan both lost championships last week. McDonagh starts us off by talking about just how hurtful Joe Hendry’s recent comments regarding his Funko Pop forehead have been. He says the disrespect needs to stop tonight. Raquel Rodriguez takes the microphone and says that, as a Texan, she’s embarrassed by her fellow Texans in the arena for the way they’re behaving. Rodriguez then proceeds to call several members of the audience several things in Spanish that your Results General will not be repeating. It was funny, though. Liv Morgan takes over and says The Judgment Day proved last week that they’re still the top dogs of Raw by humiliating Zoey Stark, El Grande Americano and Rey Mysterio. Becky Lynch interrupts and makes her way out, mocking The Judgment Day for being a bunch of shower pisses before putting the faction on notice. Lynch then calls out Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer, who emerges with her championship over her shoulder and makes her way to the ring.

At 9:25pm, Vaquer takes the microphone and tells The Judgment Day they can talk all they want, but she’s the Women’s World Champion. Vaquer points out that she won the championship on her own, which Morgan takes great exception to, insisting that Vaquer only won because Lynch was a cheating referee. Vaquer fires back that Morgan is simply angry because Vaquer won her championship back in her home country. Not to worry, though: Vaquer says she’ll give Morgan a rematch to prove that her victory in Chile wasn’t a fluke. Lynch interrupts with an idea of her own. Vaquer tells Lynch that she has her respect, calls her a great referee and says Lynch deserves a championship opportunity as well. Vaquer says she’s going to speak with Adam Pearce about making it happen. But whoever comes for her had better remember one thing: this is her championship, and she is La Primera.

Vignette: Lyra Valkyria

We get a vignette featuring a distressed and clearly not-well Lyra Valkyria, who reflects on the year she spent as Bayley’s partner and the eventual betrayal that brought their relationship crashing down. Valkyria says that she ultimately paid the bigger price for what happened, because she had to go to “the place you don’t come back from.” But according to Valkyria, it was worth it to end Bayley. Valkyria can’t understand how Bayley is back and still costing her opportunities, especially when Bayley claims to fight for all women. Valkyria closes with an ominous warning for her former partner: tonight, Bayley will wish their last match was her last match.

Singles Match: Bayley vs. Lyra Valkyria

Bayley begins her entrance at 9:30pm as we prepare for a deeply personal battle between the former partners! We return from break to find both competitors in the ring, but Bayley isn’t interested in waiting for the formalities. She attacks Valkyria and the action immediately spills to the outside — and it should be noted that the match is not officially under way yet, folks. Bayley sends her former partner crashing into the barricade before bringing her back inside. The referee finally restores enough order to call for the bell at 9:35pm, and now we’re officially under way! Bayley controls the opening moments, angrily working over her former partner and friend with a series of quick strikes. Valkyria rolls to the outside looking for a breather, but Bayley gives chase with a Suicide Dive — only for Valkyria to catch her in midair with a stiff elbow! Back inside, Valkyria posts up in the corner and looks for a Running Roundhouse Kick, but Bayley catches her and counters with a Suplex. Bayley charges her opponent moments later, only for Valkyria to catch her with a Monkey Flip that sends Bayley crashing right knee-first into the turnbuckle!

Valkyria heads upstairs and connects with a diving Scissors Kick to the bent-over Bayley before settling into a sustained stretch of control. Valkyria punishes Bayley with clubbing blows but deliberately keeps the pace slow, spending plenty of time angrily stalking around the ring between attacks. Bayley endures the punishment and eventually begins fighting her way back into the contest, unloading with another series of strikes before connecting with multiple dropping elbows. Bayley is beginning to build momentum as we head to break at 9:38pm!

We return from break with Valkyria back in control, driving Bayley into the canvas with a DDT in the corner. Valkyria continues working at a noticeably slower, more deliberate pace than Bayley, eventually positioning her former partner in the drop zone before ascending the turnbuckles and looking for a Moonsault. Bayley rolls out of harm’s way, sending Valkyria crashing hard to the canvas, and immediately catches her with a Dropkick! Bayley gets her second wind and begins firing up, picking up the pace as we build toward the finish. Valkyria responds by targeting Bayley’s neck and gets a little sloppy in the process, connecting with a Gutwrench Powerbomb that drops Bayley awkwardly across the back of her neck and shoulders. Bayley manages to rally and plants Valkyria with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex for a close cover!

Bayley slowly rises to her feet, unaware of an increasingly unhinged Valkyria rising behind her. Valkyria tries to hook in the Last Breath Sleeper, but Bayley senses the danger and escapes. Bayley looks for the Rose Plant, only for Valkyria to slip free and escape to the outside. Bayley follows and tells commentary to clear the area before hurling Valkyria over the announce table! Bayley clears the top of the desk and pulls Valkyria onto it, looking for either a Powerbomb or Piledriver, but Valkyria escapes and retreats to the ring. Bayley scrambles back inside just before the referee can count her out and immediately stalks Valkyria across the ring, unloading with a furious series of punches and stomps against the ropes until the referee physically pulls Bayley away! That momentary separation is all Valkyria needs. She catches Bayley off guard and rolls her up, stealing the victory at 9:46pm!

After the match, Valkyria quickly retreats up the ramp as an irate Bayley gives chase. The referee manages to intercept Bayley and tries to calm her down, explaining what just happened as Valkyria puts some distance between herself and her former partner.

Your Winner, Lyra Valkyria! (11 minutes)

Backstage: Dragon Lee, Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable & Ethan Page

We find Dragon Lee in the locker room when Intercontinental Champion Chad Gable walks up. Gable admits that he barely escaped with his championship against Lee last week and tells him that anytime he wants to run it back, Gable is game. Ethan Page walks into the conversation and immediately chastises Gable for offering Lee another opportunity, calling the Intercontinental Champion delusional. Gable quickly reminds Page that he lost to Dragon Lee — and that he tapped out to Gable. If Page wants a championship opportunity, Gable tells him to go out and earn it instead of running his mouth, and then the two of them can dance. Page asks if that’s really how Gable wants to do this before conceding, “Fine,” and storming off. And with that, Page storms off — as we storm off to a break!

Lola Vice’s Raw Contract Signing Interrupted by Roxanne Perez

We return from break to find Raw General Manager Adam Pearce standing on the stage with a contract in hand. Pearce welcomes Lola Vice, who made an impressive Raw debut last week, before making it official: Vice is the newest member of the Monday Night Raw roster! Vice says she’s excited to be here and promises to show everyone that these fists don’t lie, but she’s quickly interrupted by Roxanne Perez. Perez barely gets going before Vice tells her to shut up and fires off a few more choice words in Spanish. Vice then punctuates her message with a backhand that drops Perez to the floor! Perez quickly scrambles back to her feet and takes cover behind Pearce, using the Raw General Manager as a human shield as Vice stares her down to end the segment.

Backstage: Bron Breakker & Paul Heyman

Backstage, Paul Heyman is watching the previous Lola Vice segment on a monitor when Bron Breakker walks up. Heyman turns his attention to Breakker and points out that Oba Femi is still breathing — and that’s bad, bad, bad for The Vision. Breakker doesn’t seem particularly concerned. He reminds Heyman that he’s still breathing, which is bad, bad, bad for everyone.

Outside the Arena: 946 Kidnap Solo Sikoa

We cut outside the arena and find 946 beating down Solo Sikoa! Royce Keys and OTM overwhelm Solo before throwing him into their vehicle and speeding away with him. The Usos and Jacob Fatu race outside and give pursuit on foot, but they’re too late as 946 speeds away with Solo. An irate Fatu immediately turns on The Usos, yelling that he warned them this was going to happen. LA Knight arrives on the scene and takes in the aftermath as Fatu continues shouting at The Usos, furious that he kept trying to warn them about 946 and they wouldn’t listen. Tempers are boiling over as we head to break!

During the Break: Main Event Match Adjustments

We get another look at 946 kidnapping Solo Sikoa before being shown footage from during the commercial break. Dominik Mysterio approaches General Manager Adam Pearce, who’s already trying to deal with The Usos, Jacob Fatu and the ensuing post-kidnapping chaos. Dom asks whether Solo’s sudden inability to compete means that he automatically qualifies for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. Pearce calls Mysterio selfish before telling him to get his ass to the ring — the Triple Threat Match is now a Singles Match!

Men’s Money in the Bank Qualifying Triple Threat Main Event Match: Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. ???

Dominik made his entrance during the break, and Dragon Lee now makes his way to the ring as commentary discusses everything we just witnessed and reiterates that Solo Sikoa’s kidnapping has forced tonight’s scheduled Triple Threat Match to become a one-on-one contest. Both men ready themselves in the ring, but General Manager Adam Pearce has one more announcement to make. Pearce takes the microphone and says that WWE advertised a Triple Threat Match tonight — so San Antonio is going to get a Triple Threat Match! Solo Sikoa’s replacement is coming out right now…and it’s PENTA!

The San Antonio crowd gives Penta a great reaction as he quickly makes his way to the ring! So much for Dom’s plans of taking the easy road to Money in the Bank. We’re officially back to a Triple Threat Match, with Penta replacing the kidnapped Solo Sikoa! All three men ready themselves, and the opening bell sounds at 10:08pm! The match starts off on fire, with Penta quickly sending us to break after wiping out his opponents with a beautiful dive to the outside!

Dominik slows the pace and settles into a lengthy stretch of control, essentially eliminating Penta from the equation for a good portion of the match. Penta remains down on the outside while Dom and Lee battle inside, with Mysterio continuing to control Lee and doing an impressive job carrying the workload through this stretch. Despite being the workhorse, Dom still finds ample time to mock his deadbeat dad, Rey Mysterio. Penta eventually reenters the fray, but Mysterio remains on fire and even adds a little extra salt to the wound by unloading on Penta with a series of strikes.

Lee finally breaks up the sequence with a Dropkick to Mysterio’s face, giving Penta a much-needed breather while Lee begins working over Dom. Penta eventually gets back into the action and strings together some offense of his own, but much of this portion of the match continues to revolve around Mysterio and Lee. Lee gets plenty of time to showcase his athleticism, including a beautiful spot in which he dives over the top rope and catches Penta with a Headscissors Takedown on the outside. Poor Penta is getting picked on by both guys tonight. Lee later looks for a Suicide Dive on Penta, but Mysterio has it scouted and catches Lee with a 619 in mid-flight! Lee recovers, only to eat a Package Piledriver from Mysterio for a very close fall.

Beautiful sequence there, and your Results General isn’t doing the closing stretch of this match justice. If you’re watching this one back later, check out the action around 10:18pm — roughly two hours and 18 minutes into the program. All three men are down before managing to rise at roughly the same time, immediately meeting in the middle of the ring for a three-way slugfest. Penta unloads with chops and slaps across both opponents’ chests, drawing massive “WOO!” chants from the San Antonio crowd. Penta attempts to roll up Mysterio, but Dom shoves him away and sends Penta flying toward Lee, whom Penta catches with a DDT! Penta follows by planting Mysterio with the Penta Driver for what Wade Barrett calls a 2.9-count!

Lee takes control and catches Penta with a Tornado DDT before looking for Operation Dragon, but he can’t pull it off. Lee eventually covers Penta, only for Mysterio to break things up and turn his attention to Lee. Dom begins rolling through the Three Amigos to loud boos from the Texans in attendance, but Lee counters the third, floating over and catching Mysterio with a Running Elbow to the chin! Lee fires up and drives Mysterio into the canvas for another close two-count, with Penta making the save courtesy of a Diving Lariat. All three competitors are down once again as commentary emphasizes that each man has had the match within his grasp, only to come up just short.

Lee and Penta rise to their knees and crawl toward one another as Mysterio rolls to the outside. The two slowly get back to their feet, exchange a few words off-mic and begin trading blows, firing up the crowd with every strike. Lee chains several together before rebounding off the ropes directly into a Superkick from Penta! Penta tries to follow up off the ropes, only to run straight into a Leaping Knee from Lee. Lee follows with a Hurricanrana and ascends the turnbuckles, but Mysterio is back on his feet and shoves Lee from the top, sending him crashing chest-first across the top rope! Dom heads upstairs and launches himself toward Penta with a Frog Splash, but Penta gets his knees up! Lee immediately catches Mysterio on the rebound with a Styles Clash and covers, but Penta dives in to make the save at the absolute last possible millisecond!

The final several minutes have definitely made up for the slower pace through the bulk of this match. We get replays of the insanity as all three Superstars struggle back to their feet. Penta and Lee clash again, with Penta catching Lee with a Mexican Destroyer on the apron! That’s the hardest side of the ring! Penta doesn’t have time to capitalize, however, as Mysterio attacks him and follows with a Frog Splash! Dom covers, but no joy!

A frustrated Mysterio rips the top turnbuckle pad away, drawing the referee’s attention as he questions Dom but fails to replace the exposed pad. Mysterio tries to send Penta face-first into the exposed turnbuckle, but Penta reverses and sends Dom crashing into it instead! Penta immediately capitalizes, springboarding into another Mexican Destroyer and covering Mysterio to pick up the victory at 10:26pm!

Your Winner and Advancing to the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, Penta! (18 minutes)

The End

And that’s all, folks! See you tomorrow night for NXT!
