WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW RESULTS (05/03/2021)

Pre-Show Opening

To officially kick-off the Monday, May 3, 2021 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, the clock chimes 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time as the "WWE. Then... Now... ALWAYS." (which replaces the "Then. Now. FOREVER" that aired regularly prior to WWE Wrestlemania 37) where fans once again were able to attend the LIVE taping after over a year of mainly closed set tapings.

Video Package Recap - (Last Few Weeks On RAW)

To start the show we immediately head into a video package highlighting the events of the last few weeks on WWE Monday Night RAW including last week's edition of the red brand's show where The Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman, defeated Drew McIntyre in the show's main event which earned Strowman a spot in the WWE Title match at WrestleMania Backlash in just a few weeks, with McIntyre and current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.

Video Clip - Earlier Today Sonya Deville

After the video package highlighting last week's edition of WWE Monday Night RAW, we head into yet another video clip from earlier today with WWE's Sonya Deville. We see Deville speaking to MVP and WWE Official Adam Pearce backstage at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, FL. The three are about to flip a coin to see if WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will face Drew McIntyre or Braun Strowman in tonight's show's non-title match (what a strategic decision making ability!). At this point McIntyre walks in and has a back and forth with MVP, at which point Strowman enters the room and begins to taunt McIntyre

This leads to an even louder argument breaking out with Adam Pearce giving his best attempts to calm the situation down. Finally, Strowman calls "tails" as the coin is mid-air.... TAILS it is! This leads to Adam Pearce making the Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley non-title match official for tonight. Strowman states that tonight's match, he’s giving everyone a preview of WrestleMania Backlash tonight. This leads MVP to turn to Strowman and give him a warning that once Lashley puts Strowman in The Hurt Lock, he won’t make it to Backlash. A bit more arguing ends the segment.

LIVE Inside The ThunderDome!

As the backstage "coin toss" ends, we finally enter the ThunderDome at Yuengling Center LIVE in Tampa, Florida to a pop for the May 3, 2021 edition of WWE Monday Night RAW! The entrance theme sounds for the current NEW RAW Tag-Team Champions, AJ Styles and Omos.

In-Ring - RAW Tag-Team Champions AJ Styles & Omos

Their entrance theme plays both Styles and Omos down the ramp and into the ring, as the NEW RAW Tag-Team Champions strut the ring and pose. Styles has a microphone at this point as he starts by reminding the WWE Universe that he and his tag-team partner DEFEATED The New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods at WrestleMania 2021 at which point Styles proceeds to give accolades to his tag-team partner Omos for his incredible in-ring debut!

At this point, Styles turns things over to the WWE Universe as he asks if he and Omos have been missed in their recent absence (they were in the Caribbean, celebrating their victory!). After a mixed response, Styles then says he is OFFICIALLY a "Grand Slam Champion"... and it only took him five years. He doesn’t want to make New Day any more jealous than they already are.

The New Day Interrupts

Right on cue, enter Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day as their entrance theme sounds over the speakers in the arena! They immediately get on the mic and state that the NEW RAW Tag-Team Champions made a "hell of an impact" while adding that they weren’t even sure if they still worked here.... They continue on to share that they respect that, because that’s the work ethic that made them 11-time champions, vacations and a lack of respect for the tag division, that’s what champions are made of! Jokes aside, they’ve had some fun but they want to tell Omos’ tall ass something about them— there’s a reason they’re 11-time tag team champions.

They continue on to explain to Omos and Styles that every time they get knocked down, they get right back up, dust themselves off, and win their titles back... every single time... like clockwork. You can take your shots and jabs, but when Kofi won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania, it was a very physically and emotionally draining match, but somehow, some way, he came to Raw the next night because that’s the kind of champion he is.

Kingston then continues on to say, "So you can brag, you can boast, talk about how you won one match and earned a month off, but that’s not the way we roll." Omos finally pipes up as he states that he's had quite a bit enough of these two "morons" and their joking around. Omos continues on to state that he believes he didn't knock enough sense into them at WrestleMania! He finishes by adding that once he’s finished with them, neither of them are gonna be able to laugh... or walk.

A perplexed Woods then points out that that’s a felony, Omos tells him to come get this work, and Xavier says it’s time to come back to reality, and the reality is that New Day are about to become your 12-TIME TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS On that note, we head to commercial break!

RAW Tag Team Titles Match
The New Day vs. AJ Styles & Omos

As we return from the commercial break, we head back to the ring where The New Day members Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are now in their corner and AJ Styles and Omos are in theirs as the referee moves to the center of the ring to signal for the bell. The bell rings, and this RAW Tag-Team Title Match is officially underway! To start the action off in this title match, we have AJ Styles in for his tag-team to start the match with Xavier Woods who is in for his tag-team. Styles takes a step towards Woods, then turns back and immediately tags in Omos before any strikes or blows take place.

Omos steps into the ring for his RAW in-ring debut, here in Yuengling Center at Tampa, Florida tonight Monday, May 3, 2021! Woods heads in at the larger than life buddy of Styles and attempts a Kick at Omos, though it doesn't affect him in the least. Woods with another Kick, still nothing. Again, and finally it might have annoyed Omos who sends Woods to the canvas inside the ring. Woods stumbles and staggers back to his feet and is ready to go again.

Omos then continues on to strike Woods multiple times until Woods is back down on the canvas. Omos follows up by assisting Woods to his feet just to launch him into the turnbuckles in the corner of the ring! Omos wants Kofi Kingston now. Kofi tags in and also delivers some kicks. Kofi bounces around and looks to mount offense but Omos blocks a kick and shoves him to the mat. Kofi runs the ropes, ducks a move and kicks Omos. Woods tags in and they double team Omos but he comes right back with a big double clothesline for a pop.

At this point, Omos works Woods around now. Omos then makes his way to his corner where he makes the tag to Styles. An energetic Styles makes his way into the ring, but Woods rolls him for a cover out of nowhere. Styles is able to kick out at the two to continue the match up as he makes his way back to his feet with Woods. At this point, Woods sends Styles to the floor at ringside before landing a Dropkick through the ropes to Styles before tagging Kingston into the match! To start off, Kingston looks to run the ropes... but Omos is in now, staring him down. Kofi changes his direction and leaps to the floor, taking Styles back down at ringside just as we head to the commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, we head back to the ring inside the ThunderDome for the second half of this RAW Tag-Team Title Match-Up with Xavier Woods and AJ Styles inside the ring with some back and forth action. Woods takes Styles down in the center of the ring. Styles makes his way back to his feet with the assistance of the ropes, at which time Woods again levels Styles for the cover! Styles is able to get his shoulder up at the two to continue the match. Styles is visibly frustrated at this point. The match continues as The New Day ends up doing the Unicorn Stampede as they unload with stomps and several quick tags to keep AJ down in their corner. Kofi with a low dropkick to AJ in the corner.

Next Kingston takes Styles to the mat for some ground work. Finally Styles is able to fight his way back to a standing position as he breaks free from Kingston's hold. Kingston responds with a Jumping Knee for yet another cover on the canvas, Styles is able to break free and get his shoulder up at the two! Styles able to retaliate with a Jawbreaker on Kingston, forcing Kingston to make his way to his corner for the tag. Woods makes his way into the ring with Styles as the two go back and forth until Styles makes the tag to Omos. Omos drops Kingston as he attempts to make the save for Woods.

Next, Omos drops Woods and then drops Kofi with a backbreaker over his knee. Omos scoops Woods with one arm and delivers another backbreaker with ease. Omos goes corner to corner with splashes on both challengers. Omos with the big chokeslam to Kofi. Woods kicks Omos but it does nothing. Omos levels Woods with a big boot now. AJ tags in and goes to the top. AJ leaps over Omos’ shoulders with the Phenomenal Forearm to Woods for the pin to retain the title!

Winners: AJ Styles & Omos

After the Match

Immediately following the match, Styles and Omos celebrate their victory in the center of the ring as their music sounds over the speakers and we head to replays and highlights from the match!

As we return from the replays, we once again see Styles and Omos as they raise their titles high above their heads in victory for their first title defense since winning the RAW Tag-Team Titles at Wrestlemania!

Backstage - The Queen, Charlotte Flair

Next we head backstage as Sonya Deville is standing with Charlotte Flair, Deville finishes saying that she "will take Flair’s concerns into consideration". At this point, WWE Official Adam Pearce comes walking up to Deville just as Charlotte is making her exit. Puzzled, Pearce questions Deville, asking what that was all about... but Deville simply states that "it was nothing" as she looks to change the subject. Pearce is stern as he states that he wants to get just one thing straight... while he appreciates Deville and her assistance, she has been overstepping her boundaries as of late. Deville listens intently.

Elsewhere Backstage - WWE Champion Bobby Lashley

Next we head to a different area of the backstage section of the Yuengling Center as we come upon WWE Champion Bobby Lashley who is standing with his Hurt Business partner, MVP. The two are waiting with Kayla Braxton as the announcers hype the match with Bobby Lashley for later tonight as we head to commercial break!

Vignette - Eva Marie

As we return from the commercial break, we are immediately sent into a new vignette highlighting Eva Marie as she states she plans to come back to "where she started". She continues on to state that she wants to "help others achieve their dreams". To end the vignette, we are informed that the "Eva-lution" is coming soon...

Backstage Interview - MVP and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley

As the vignette ends, we once again return to the backstage area where Kayla Braxton is still standing with MVP and WWE Champion Bobby Lashley of The Hurt Business. MVP says Braun Strowman could eat a salad of four-leaf clovers and eat rabbit’s foot stew and he still wouldn’t be lucky enough to beat Bobby Lashley. It doesn’t matter which of them fights Bob, neither can compare. Lashley says he’s not gonna let himself be beaten and lose the title.

Video Clip - (Last Week On RAW)

Next we head into a video clip that highlights last week's edition of RAW where Elias and Jaxson Ryker along with The Miz and John Morrison were attacked with tomatoes.

Backstage - Elias and Jaxson Ryker

The video clip highlighting the "tomato attack" on Elias and Ryker, they are both now standing backstage as they vow to "get revenge" on The New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Unfortunately... they instead end up throwing tomatoes at Randy Orton... who is NOT happy about the situation. At this point, The Original Bro comes riding by on his scooter as he shouts "Hello" to Orton who is wiping mushy tomatoes from his brow.

Charlotte Flair vs. Dana Brooke

As we return to the ring inside the ThunderDome, we hear the entrance theme for Charlotte Flair sound as we see The Queen make her grand entrance to the stage. Pyro goes off around her as she makes her way down the ramp and towards the ring and we make our way to the next commercial break!

We return from the commercial break and Dana Brooke is out next as Flair awaits her opponent inside the ring. Once both are inside the ring, the referee signals for the bell. The bell rings, and our next match-up is officially underway! To start the action, we see Dana make her way to the center of the ring to attempt a Handspring towards Flair who immediately catches Brooke mid-air. Brooke then turns it into a Satellite Tijeras to force Flair to release her. Brooke then follows up with an attempted Dropkick which again, Flair is able to catch and then hits an STO Backbreaker into the ropes. Flair proceeds to Stomp Brooke until she heads in for the cover. Brooke is able to kick out at the two to continue the match up. Both women make their way back to their feet at this point and
Dana hits a Back Elbow that connects to Flair, then another. At this point Brooke makes her way up to the top turnbuckle as she looks for some highflying action. Brooke goes for the Senton Atomico, but doesn't successfully land the entire thing for the cover to Flair. Flair is able to get the shoulder up as she kicks out to continue the match. Flair is able to then counter with the Figure Four Leglock as Brooke shouts and jerks around attempting to reach for the ropes. Flair then Bridges Back to end the match as Brooke is forced to tap!

Winner (By Submission): Charlotte Flair

After the Match

Immediately following the match, Charlotte Flair is standing tall as Dana Brooke's tag-team partner suddenly comes in and attacks Flair!

In-Ring - Sonya Deville

As we make our way to the next commercial break, we get the entrance theme for Sonya Deville as she heads to the stage, then makes her way down the ramp and into the ring. We'll find out what she has to say when we return from the commercial break!

We return from the commercial break as the entrance music for Sonya Deville is just (conveniently) coming to an end as Deville stands in the center of the ring with a microphone in hand. Similar to last week's edition of RAW, we once again see Charlotte Flair standing alongside Deville in the ring. Charlotte immediately begins to complain about being "left out" of a RAW Women's Title shot as she begins to plead her case. Flair states that "being added to the match would make WrestleMania Backlash a BIGGER DEAL". Deville immediately responds that she concurs with Flair, agreeing to add her to the match.

Rhea Ripley Enters

Suddenly the entrance theme for Rhea Ripley sounds through the speakers in the ThunderDome as Rhea comes stomping out to the stage. Ripley then informs Flair that "nobody likes her" as she scoffs at how completely unfair a triple threat match is.

Asuka Enters Too

At this point the entrance theme for Asuka sounds as well and Asuka makes her way to the stage before she states that she is game for a triple threat. Asuka then adds that she's ready to become champion again anyway. This leads to an all out female brawl. By the end, Asuka is the only one left standing inside the ring, ready to go!

Backstage Interview - Humberto Carrillo

Next we head backstage for an interview that is being conducted with Humberto Carrillo. Before Carrillo is able to answer any questions or give his thoughts on recent events involving him, he is suddenly attacked by Sheamus who proceeds to beat him to a pulp.

In-Ring - The Miz w/ John Morrison

The entrance theme for The Miz sounds as he makes his way out to the stage, accompanied by his tag-team partner, co-host, and friend... John Morrison. The two strut their way down the ramp and into the ring as we head to commercial break once again.

Video Clip - "Moments Ago, Women's Division"

As we return from the commercial break, we head into a video clip that highlights the events from moments ago with Ripley, Flair, and Asuka.

Backstage - WWE Official Adam Pearce stomps up to Sonya Deville as she is standing backstage. Pearce immediately chews into Deville for her decision to add Charlotte Flair to the WrestleMania Backlash match without consulting him or anyone else. Deville responds apologetically as she claims she sent a text to him, however she then admits to Pearce that they should honestly be making these types of decisions together and she will take that into account in the future.

In-Ring - The Miz and John Morrison

At this point, we return to the ring once again as The Miz and John Morrison have been patiently waiting since before the commercial break when they made their entrance. To start, The Miz gets on the mic and proceeds to talk about how he and Morrison have been given no choice but to beat the respect into Damian Priest.

Inset Video Promo - Damian Priest

We see an inset video appear in the corner of the screen with a promo from Priest as he talks about how great Miz’s career is. Priest then adds how Miz definitely wouldn’t last ten seconds in New York City. Priest finishes by stating he would break Miz's jaw.

Damian Priest vs. John Morrison

Damian Priest makes his entrance to the ring as his entrance theme sounds in the arena and he makes his way down the ramp and enters the ring where John Morrison is standing in wait for his match-up with Priest. Priest finishes his entrance and the lights return to normal as the referee moves to the center of the ring and signals for the bell. The bell rings and this match up is officially underway! To start the action, both Priest and Morrison meet in the center of the ring and immediately they lock up. Priest with a big inverted Atomic Drop.

Priest continues on to level Morrison for a quick pin attempt. Priest with a Lariat that sends Morrison over the top rope and causes Morrison to land at the feet of The Miz. The Miz checks on Morrison and then stares back at Priest inside the ring as we go to commercial break!

As we return from the commercial break, Priest is in control in the ring. Morrison looks to take control of the match with a sweep. Morrison mounts Priest with strikes now. Morrison with a running knee to the face for a close 2 count as Miz brags on his partner from ringside. We see how Morrison hit his springboard kick during the break. Morrison grounds Priest in the middle of the ring now as Miz runs his mouth at ringside. A Knee Strike from Priest. Morrison counters with multiple Forearm Strikes and Stomps after tripping Priest up inside the ring. The two go back and forth for a bit until a Back Elbow from Priest knocks Morrison to the canvas. Priest immediately follows up with a Broken Arrow, but Morrison is able to slip out. Priest then proceeds to hit a big Lariat for the cover! Morrison is able to get the shoulder up at the two to continue the match! Both make their way back to their feet and Morrison successfully hits the Spanish Fly off the second rope to take Priest down. Priest bounces right back up. Suddenly Miz attempts to run interference for the save for Morrison, unfortunately it backfires. Finally an Inverted Face-lock and Hit the Lights for the three count pin and win for Priest!

Winner: Damian Priest

Following the match we head backstage where we see Mansoor signing a RAW contract with WWE Official Adam Pearce.

Sheamus Walks In

Just then, Sheamus walks up. Sheamus states that Humberto Carrillo will NOT be accepting his open challenge tonight. He continues on to state that "accidents happen". Sheamus then mistakes Mansoor for an intern.

Mansoor corrects him and Sheamus says he’d love it if he were to accept the open challenge tonight. Sheamus then adds that it won’t be for the United States Championship, of course, but there’s no way for the WWE Universe to get to know him better than taking a Brogue Kick in the side of the head.

Backstage Interview - MVP

Next we head into a backstage interview with The Hurt Business representative, MVP. He hypes up tonight’s main event before suggesting that maybe Drew McIntyre might team up with Bobby Lashley to take Braun Strowman out of the picture tonight. On that note, we head to commercial break!

Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin vs. Lucha House Party

We head to the ring where a match is already in progress with the tag-team of Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin in one corner and Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado representing Lucha House Party in the opposing corner. Metalik and Alexander are in the ring as the action continues. Alexander is in control of the match as he hits the Michinoku Driver. Next we see a tag as Dorado makes his way in and he reverses a powerbomb attempt by Alexander. Dorado then hits a Tornado DDT that Benjamin luckily blocks. Metalik tags back in just as Benjamin then proceeds to land boots to Metalik for the cover. Metalik kicks out at the two to continue the match!! Suddenly Dorado for the assist for the Ropewalk Elbow Drop from Metalik to Benjamin for the three count pin and win!

Winners: Lucha House Party

After the Match

Immediately following the match, Cedric Alexander gets on the mic and shouts at his tag-team partner, Shelton Benjamin. Alexander states that they went from Tag-Team Champions with the Hurt Business... to this? No wonder they got kicked out. Or rather, they kicked Benjamin out, and he should have turned his back on him, too. He asks Shelton how many years he has left, and says he refuses to waste another second of his prime keeping Benjamin alive, and their team is done. (Ouch)

Backstage - Angel Garza

We head backstage where we see Angel Garza walking with a rose in his hand when suddenly Drew Gulak waves him down, asking if the rose is for him. Garza then asks if Gulak is "being funny" and Gulak says the only thing that’s funny is that he’s a ladies’ man but he doesn’t seem to ever get a lady, and challenges him to a match. Angel threatens to shove the rose up his... as we head to commercial break.

Backstage Interview - Shelton Benjamin

As we return from the commercial break, we get an interview with Shelton Benjamin who states that he has survived so long in this business because he can take the hit, and he’s seen so many bright young superstars like Cedric Alexander come and go over the years. The only reason Cedric was in the Hurt Business was because he saw something in him nobody else did, and if he doesn’t want to be in a team any more, fine, he’s a grown man and he can do what he wants, but if he keeps down this road he’s gonna be another star just fizzling out.

Angel Garza vs. Drew Gulak

We return to the ring as out first comes Angel Garza with a rose in his mouth as his entrance theme sounds through the speakers of the arena. We then see that the opponent, Drew Gulak, is waiting in the ring already for the match to begin. The referee signals for the bell and the next match is officially underway! Next Garza mounts Gulak and talks some trash. Garza with a big backbreaker over the knee. Garza smiles while following Gulak in the corner. Garza with a unique escape to get free, then a huge clothesline and a dropkick into the corner. Garza with more aggressive offense, keeping Gulak down in the corner as the referee tries to count and warn him.

After The Match

Immediately following the match, Angel Garza stands tall in victory as his music hits the speakers in the ThunderDome. We then go to replays.

Garza heads to the ramp and continues celebrating.

Riddle talks about it being an honor to team with Orton, pointing to how they’re still undefeated.

At this point, Orton says they have just one match. Orton turns back to Riddle and asks him if he wants to go to the ring and win another one now. Riddle starts ranting about his plans for the team but Orton hushes him and tells him to zip it. Orton walks off as Riddle rides off ahead of him on his scooter. Graves confirms R-K-Bro vs. Elias and Jaxson Ryker as we head to commercial break.

The Original Bro hops over the ropes ready for some in-ring action as he heads right in with a double wristlock, Jaxson reverses into a slam but Riddle is able to stay right on Ryker and goes for a sleeper hold!

Ryker makes his way to his corner and is able to make the tag to his partner Elias. Elias with the Hart Attack knee for the cover. Riddle is able to kick out to continue the match. As both men make their way back to their feet, a Back Elbow followed by a cover for two. Riddle continues to get worked over inside the ring until finally he makes the tag to Orton. McIntyre then states that what’s meant to be is him caving Lashley and Strowman’s heads in.

Braun Strowman rolls up and tells Drew he’s leaving WrestleMania Backlash as WWE Champion.

Ring Entrance - Sheamus

We go back to the ring and out comes WWE United States Champion Sheamus for his next Open Challenge title defense. Back to commercial.

Sheamus sits Mansoor on the top rope and then clotheslines him to the floor as fans boo and the referee counts. Mansoor beats the 10 count just in time but Sheamus goes to work while he’s down. Sheamus with 10 Beats of the Bodhrán now, sending Mansoor from the apron to the floor. Sheamus follows and slams Mansoor over the top of the barrier, putting him in the timekeeper’s area.

Sheamus shows off back in the ring as the referee counts. Mansoor makes it back in at the 9 count and Sheamus can’t believe it. Mansoor fights Sheamus off with a bunch of elbows. Bliss says Lilly’s favorite color is red, and wherever she goes, trouble seems to follow.

At this point, Lilly whispers something to Bliss – a certain someone may have caught her beady little eyes. Bliss can’t tell us who yet, that’s their dirty little secret. Bliss says like she told us before, don’t blame her for what happens next. Bliss starts singing a nursery rhyme… asking Lilly what she made her do, and how the world goes crazy at the sight of you… we have so much fun together and will be friends forever… what was that scream, is this a dream? Lilly what did you make me do?…
